Re: 6x blu-ray 100mW 405nm laser lighting a match!

Oh....it's limited by diffraction, so it can be focused better even with the standard Aixiz lens...that makes sense. Thanks for clearing that out Gazoo. :p
Anyway, an USB launcher,a webcam, a 300mW open can, all computer controled kinda makes the "bug zapper" a doable project now....Just think about it , focus it on a very small spot a few inches away, use 5mW to aim at a stationary fly, then ZAP! 300mW in it's face.Just picture the fun you would have with one of those setups and an AR coated fish tank full of flies :D They would be like drlava's match :D never know what hit'em.

Reds don't work on spiders but do work on flies when they land on your screens ;D

Are these high power diodes still stacked or just BR? :-/

DrLava when are you going to build the 100mW pointer using the Sonar case? that would be the most powerful portable Blu-Ray Laser. [smiley=evil.gif]

This diode is BR only. Monk, the build will be 80-90mW for the portable. Sometime in the future, I'm running tests on the regulator board.

Hehe.. i've tried shooting flies with a 100 mW++ red, they are resilient little bastards. Flies will definitely budge when you hit them with some laser power, but it won't kill them by a long shot... even if a puff of smoke comes off they just fly away as if nothing just happened.

Hi, follow a guide for a red burner and use the information posted i nthe 4x blu thread and you should be good. If you don't feel comfortable in the process of DIY lasers, practice on some red burners first.

drlava

could you push the diode to 150mw with a tec?

does it get hot at all at 100mw??

I bet DrLava could, if you send him the 6x Blu-Ray diode. ::)
