I cant believe how good this turned out
Silica crystal is still considered glass to the best of my knowledge (former glassblower for ten years). It just has a different compound with similar molecular properties, for really the only difference is the COE (coefficient of expansion). They both have a similar melting point, yet its more of a viscosity change rate in comparison to another "glass" like borosilicate glass (aka pyrex). Pyrex being a more hard glass compared to a "soft glass" ie lead glass or crystal glass.Nice I have that same globe! I wish I could take pictures that way you could! Every time I do something like this it never comes out right. And I don't think it's glass, I think it's fused silica crystal btw.
