I'm not sure. My brother has this same laser but he's never taken it apart to snoop around with it, just to re-adjust the button, but pot modding is a very bad idea.

Why try, (and most likely destroy your laser)?. You can get a LED Shoppe 50 mW for about $25 and most are about 75 mW, and most 5 mW pens die before they go that high in output. -Glenn

I live in switzerland and the prices are here *********

i bought my 5mW laser for 36 CHF (30$ i think)

and 50-100mws are like 500 CHF

WHAT ? 30$ ?
You could have bought a 100mw pen (arround 80mw ) from focalprice for $25.
Or you could take a look at DX, o-like, FP, LS. They ship worldwide. I just don't know if they are allowed in your country.

If you don't know much about lasers and don't want to risk (high probability to damage) your laser, don't pot mod it.

Forget about pot moding the new wish pointers (this one you have). It will die.

Yes this laser does have a pot mod. I have the same exact laser.
I highly suggest that you do not pot mod your laser because...

1) The mW output will only peak for a minute or so.
2) The life of the laser diode will be greatly reduced (it may only last 5 minutes)
3) Dangerous IR can be spewed from the diode when pot modding a 5mW laser without an IR filter.
4) The cheap 5mW lasers have delicate parts inside. It's EXTREMELY easy to break something even if you are just trying to pull out the driver board.
5) If points 1 & 2 & 4 happen, your laser is ruined.

I've pot modded a laser before and I do not recommend it. It's a waste of 6 USD or however much the laser costs.

My Recommendation:
I recommend buying a good burning laser that you can get for as low as 50 USD.
I got a 200mW Red Laser from O-Like for 54 USD. You can get a 200mW Green Laser from O-Like for 75 USD. O-Like will replace parts if anything happens to your laser under warranty.

I hope I helped ;) +Rep.

I guess your laser is one from Focal Price..

They have lasers labeled this way.. not at the aperture..

This laser has pot mod, but it is probably running at its highest power already. I dont have good experience with pot moding a FP lasers..

also i have received couple of days ago one laser from FP and it have same module inside as a BUY IN COINS lasers..
IT is impossible to take the module out without leaving a cosmetic marks or even destroying the whole unit. It is really heavy pressed inside, glued, and you dont have any acces to grab it or so..

so if you want to try pot moding a laser you should buy one from DX
