I fell in love with the 589nm wavelength because of the adaptive optics used in todays optical telescopes. I wish we could develop a solid state 589nm chip, but barring that, the only laser i will ever purchase and not build is the 589nm.
I chatted with Lasence, because on Alibaba they have a dozen listings for 575nm lasers, but in the conversation they said due to customer complaints about power stability. I remember in this thread people mentioned the humidity stability issues of the doubler crystal(S).
What I really want is about 50 mw average of a 2 ps 80mhz rep rate dye laser in a solid state package At 575-585nm. Not likely. My dye is from 1980. Very hard to stay aligned overtime. Can’t buy née dye filters. Bad cooling on pump. Pump on occasion q switches and shuts off.
