HI. I thinking of buying a 50mW green laser pointer from Rayfoss beacuse my 50mW Dx laser was not like i expect. Will some one of these laser be abel to pop a balllon or light a match and do they have IR filters??

I just wanted to say, that my 50mW FLX can light a match.

IMO 50mW in green is too low if you want to burn things. Some of them will pop dark balloons, but really this is kinda stupid. I've popped balloons when I first started with lasers, but after you do it a few times there is no real reason to do it anymore. It's just not a good criteria for selecting a green laser. Just use a pin if you want to pop balloons.

I've got a few greens that are in the 50's and none of them will fire regular red matches. You might get some smoke/stink but no flame.

None of those are IR filtered. If you are dead set on buying one of those three, I would suggest skipping the second one. CR2's are not as common as CR123A's, dont have as much capacity and actually seem to cost more. (you can find really good deals on CR123A's frequently).

The panasonic CR2's from DX are pretty good, or the ones I get are but they're primary batteries. They last pretty long imo.

DO YOU?? don't be fooled about some ppl's positive feedback just cuz they see thee laser as VERY BRIGHT thinking it's up-to-spec.... how many of them actually own a LPM?? most ppl who buy their lasers can't afford a LPM so rayfoss is best at preying on those beginner laserists which is really screwed up!

you should read how faona ran away and hid like a crook after i asked her to match her output readings with my LPM output reading....

btw, i think faona's birthday must be 2/10.. why? THERE HAS NOT BEEN A SINGLE 200mw LASER that they claim the output power not being 210mw... why?? why are they all rated @ 210mw?? their TMP-1 power meter reading is BS! don't trust their readings, buy a LPM!

My opinion is to go higher just like everyone else, also if I were you I would avoid the 2nd choice you had linked in your thread, because it's a very reliable laser, I owned it before.
 
50mW of green will burn if it's focusable (or you use a magnifying glass on a collimated one).
Everyone is right, 100mW or more to burn more stuff, and more easily.
You should go with a focusable one.
Also, take heed to the warnings about Rayfoss. Until we have seen that they can get their act together, you are better off staying with o-like.

but, if you don't want to spend a lot, you could try this one, and you will be able to burn a few things.
Important: Don't forget to invest in some safety glasses, your eyesight is irreplaceable. :cool:
$10-$100 is a lot less than it would cost for doctor visits if you accidentally hit yourself in the eye with your new burning laser.

edit: Oh yeah, I own the RF532-100mW-FLX, it's very sturdy and has the FDA safety features.

I love it. But it's not IR filtered, so I recommend multi-wavelength glasses

I never liked it, but that's just me. It looks like it should be a part of something, and not a whole unit.
