I made another heat sink especially for the 50mw green module to suit 502b host.
Outstanding job!

I once hand filed a pulley until it fit in a d-cell maglight. The pulley set screw held the module. It was a 30mw 650 nm red that cost 300 dollars.

A long time ago!

Again...nice job!Good heat sinking is always wise!

Nice work, having that lathe sure does make things easier to build doesn't it:)

Very nice.

I have worked in machine shops and know how to center, account for run out, and do accurate work, I just haven't bought all the tools yet, I have automotive most everything and I have changed engines in my garage but I still don't have some basic parts making equipment.

I am going to end up getting a lathe at some point it's just been a matter of economics, but I have hand turned so much stuff it's silly.

I make sinks out of layers like a transformer housing.
I cut disc and turn them down like some 3rd world peasant.
Then drill stack and tap to make a part the hard way, but it works.

Lately I buy bar stock and cut it down on a chop saw with a non ferrous metal blade, I cut bigger stuff than I should for the 11 inch blade, such as 3 inch bar, I just do it slowly.
p.s. I don't recommend doing anything dangerous, I'm a practiced limit stretcher. If you exceed ratings you do so at your own peril.

It sure is satisfying when you can build and fabricate things from everyday items. The down side is I dont want to throw anything away. Stupid things even, I have a cracked plastic blade snow shovel for example not just the wooden handle that I took off but still the blade and telling myself I might use it one day:whistle:
Have you ever seen the show Jay Leno's garage? What money can buy wow, he has the 3d equipment to build say a 1930 Dussenburg intake manifold from scratch in his "garage" more of a museum I know. Still though money or not the man knows his stuff......Good stuff RedCowBoy
