If you have seen my BST thread, you may know that I got a hold of a >1W 460nm laser and I now have it for sale on feeBay. If you are interested check out the listing, starting bid at $0.99.

Link: eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

Note on wavelength from listing: To verify the wavelength, I personally tested the wavelength experimentally with a diffraction grating and got a result of 463nm. Using the same setup, I measured 448nm from a typical 445nm-450nm rated laser diode and measured 472nm from a DPSS module known to be 473nm. If you are not satisfied with the wavelength or power of this laser, you may return it for a full refund.

Wtf if I place a bid and automatically another $1 higher bid is placed. Is this a trick or what?

^That's eBay's "Proxy bid" system. eBay does not show the max bid of the highest bidder, so if your bid does not break the high bidder's hidden amount, then eBay automatically bids up to just over your amount.

Here's eBay's version of what I said: Automatic bidding

What is life span on the laser? Also how much time is on it?

thanks
scott

Life span is 10000 hours and run time is about ten minutes due to testing.

Is divergence better than that of the 445's?

I actually think these ARE 445's. Otherwise we would have been notified about new wavelength modules. I would say these are cherry picked and now people start making a shitload of $$.

Excellent point.

Have more info Styo?

I think secrecy is the wrong route to go here.

If you're not transparent about what you know, and where you got this from, you run the risk of upsetting the community or at least the buyer.

If the wavelength claim doesn't pan out, or if it does, but 460s become common in a month, then you leave yourself with the reputation of having been the guy who withheld interesting info for just a little more personal profit.

Wrong approach in my mind, and I'm glad to see that I was just outbid. (my bid went in before the discussion here, and before I even knew the seller was a member)
