I also tried some popcorn, cooked it just how I liked it! Burnt into non existance and infused with blu-tak!

Too much power I think

Only 1 445nm diode and a popcorn kernel were harmed in the making of these pictures

The CO2 laser is 40W

I had just finished rebuilding the main axes of my laser cutter, went to strap on the 445nm diodes, and turned it on and find out it's LED'd

You should turn your soldering iron down. That diode looks like it got too hot. And I don't think you were using the right kind of flux for soldering to wood :eg:

While I don't know what the lethal dosages of arsenic are, nor do I know if it decomposes with great heat, I do know that red light emitting semiconductors often contain arsenic. You'd probably need to vaporize and inhale a bunch of laser diodes to see any ill effects, but still, be safe :beer:
