i just finished my 445nm, its so weak

i used a lm317 driver with a 1 ohm 2 watt resistor

i dunno whats going on

the laser is weaker than my phr 803t thats all i can say, seems like a 5mW or something

p.s im using 2x10440 (8.0V cuz not fully charged), maybe there not enough but ima just wait for my 15226 batteries for now

i hope my laser aint dead =[

You might want to give us more details on this. What power source are you using.
I also have a question for you. Did you hold your iron too long on the diode pins while soldering? I had a 445 being damaged due to this.

Pictures are hard to make out, but your schematic has no connection for the negative side...Is that really the case or is it just not on the drawing?

uhh i connected the case pin and negative pin to the negative part of the lm317

i did not do the soldering for the 445nm, i bought it pre soldered

I was also confused by the fact I see no power source in the pictures. Was it taken apart for pictures?

Theres your problem. 10440 might not be able to give you enough current or are not effective at doing so. 10440s should be used to transfer at most 600-700 mA I think.

so basically im using a mohrenberg's host

the diode attached to the lm317,

and then the lm317 went to the switch inside the mohrenberg

and then there i put my batteries

oh alright... but i dun think its even outputting 600-700 mA, but anyways i think it might have been a weak connection, i used magnets and a wire to fill in the missing 10440 for the 3xAAA battery cartridge

also the fact that i dun have my glass lens yet, maybe the acrylic doesn't really do anything

lol dont use the acrylic with a 445!
i suggest you disassemble the laser, wait for the glass lens and once you have it, test it with the new lens and the new batteries, then assemble the host again.

I have a 445 with a micro-boost running off 3 AAAs in series, and the AAAs are delivering 1.4 amps. 2 10440s should be able to provide enough current for a decent output. Runtime might be short be it should still work, but You may have 1 or both of your batteries crapping out on you.

Yea no Acrylic lens at the power you trying to get out.

alright i'll be patient for one more week and hopefully stuff will arrive

im sure my driver should have been soldered properly ...

i put it in the pill for the mohrenberg host and wrapped the top up with electrical tape to prevent any contact with the lm317 driver

hmmm ...... ONE MORE WEEK GUYS!!! =]

btw is my lm317 back side allowed to be in contact with anything?

cause my driver right now is like compacted into the pill of the mohrenberg host

like basically the lm317 back is touching the plastic of the pill

No I don't think there is a problem there. Besides the inner of the host is not electrically conductive, unless you scratch it ;)
I had a friend who scratched it so he could use the - battery supply since he accidentally took the case pin of the diode off.
