I be a little concerned that the pictures are from 2009 though. Could just be the date needs to be set on the camera though.

that looks like a nice deal, $58 + shipping for 1 set. these will work fine for beamshows and should be able to do some very basic graphics

group buy :anyone: :D

Im fairly new to laser shows and have just done some basic reading. Is this most of what one would need?

if so I am in on a group buy! Im ok with 15k for my first attempt

I am also wondering how to use one of these. I haven't looked into projectors/scanners too much.

I've been itching to try my hand at a real laser scanner... I'd be in on a group buy :) Anyone else?

Thanks. I was doing some looking, and DAMN, this is so expensive.

It's not that expensive to start out. Andy's system is a full-fledged. You can get away with spending $200 or so for a monochromatic 20k scanner, at least to start out with. I went about buying a SpaceLAS galvo for about $130, a CMedia sound card for about $25, and various electronic parts for the breadboard correction amp. Good way to start and then you can do more sophisticated stuff later.

So I'm looking into Building my own scanner now. And I have a few questions.
What other parts would I need to build a full scanner once I have one of these?
Can I start with one color (532) then add on as I get more money?
How does the analog modulation work? Does it plug in via molex to the DMX?

+1 to this. The tutorial isn't super clear and when dealing with this much money I'd like to be 100% sure of what I'm doing!!

You people....
Go to the scanner/showlaser subforum of LPF or even better, photonlexicon, and start reading...
