301 Host help

I need help taking apart a 301 laser host a friend gave me that does not work.
I searched this but nothing specific.

He said it has a 100mw 650nm module in it that I would like to try fixing, but don't want to destroy anything, especially the host.

All i have done so far is unscrew the focusing ring, can't see how to get any farther.

Sorry about not looking at this sooner, was on the road for a few days.

Figured it out. G301 host with 100mw 650nm module.

Looking closely with a jewelers loop, I found the joint below the head and had to use two sets of channel locks and strips of leather to get it apart.

The glued joint didn't help it any.

After pulling the module out, I found that the micro-switch was bad.

Scavenged a switch from some old cd/dvd player that had the same size switch housing and contact spread, and now it works good.

My Radiant X4 LPM says it outputs 115mw on a fresh charged Panasonic CGR-AF cell.

I even offered it back to my friend, but he says it's mine now.

When he gave it to me, he couldn't find the tail-cap keys at first, but he did find them and gave them to me.

Nice laser, a little more power than i thought.

Check out this "301" thread where I used a module puller (post # 45).

Also focused the beam to a point for burning.
