200 mw ir laser for $30 :)

while i was searching i found a 200 mw ir laser diode at oatley electronics. first go to their website then scroll down and look at the menu on the left, click on lasers. will this be able to pop balloons or cut tape?

It will - from up close, unless you have it focused....My night shot is screwed up, so I have a difficult time checking for IR anymore...it is trial and error, and should NOT be done without safety goggles !

Okay - that company appears to be fairly straight forward - the module looks to have decent heatsinking - I have never dealt with them though...
