Here is it. The 6x diode in the kenom barrel running at 170mA. Power is between 165 - 170mW. These matches are just regular strike-on-box red matches. They are also about 5 years old and I found them in an old camping stove  ;D

Anyway, heres the video's. I have horrible aim in the second video. But when the beam is focused and it hits the match, it ignites almost instantaneously.

Those are the links up above, and here they are embedded:

They were filmed on my cell phone... the quality sucks but you get the idea.

170mW blu-ray?

yowza

So the 6x can take pretty much after all.I wonder what's the limit on those....too bad no one can afford to test them like a red diode. :p

Awesome videos!!! Thanks for posting them. Geez, 200mW already? These things are advancing MUCH faster than the DVD reds did, I think, or maybe I'm just getting old and time is starting to fly by. By this time next year it seems like the blu-rays will have surpassed the output of even the red diodes. Too bad there is no driving industrial force trying to improve the 635nm diodes...thats a really great color, but friggin expensive!!
