With a 405nm BluRay, what is the usual distance from the laser diode can, to the lens?
I know some focusing is required, so I'm just looking for an approximate measurement, in mm's or fractions of an inch, from the end of the diode can, to the face of the lens.
Thanks in advance.

Quick and dirty question: what voltage and milliamps for 200mw IR pump diode?
I know it's spec'd for 200mw, but don't know the model number or maker or anything, so any ballpark rates would be fine.
Thanks!
Take a standard green laser sight and modify it to produce a wider, cone shapped beam, maybe making a 2' foot diameter spot at 20' feet (output wattage may need to be increased). Then, add a small timing circuit so it pulses the light at 10 to 15 cycles per second.

If all you have is just the diode, how can you tell you're really getting a PHR-803T?
Any marks to look for? Any telltales?
Or, are you just left to trusting that the seller is really selling what he says he is?
...look like laser beams (or at least like movie type laser beams)?
Well, I'm watching "Future Weapons" on the Discovery channel and they're doing a piece on the Army's new minigun and it got me thinking.
