Hi everyone, I haven't been on here much lately. I hope everyone is doing well.
I am currently in the process of making a new laser. It will be high powered, and I will most likely choose the NUBM44 diode for it.
So my main question is, how could I run the diode continuously at a high power...
Hi everyone, its been a while since my last lpf post. I haven't had a chance to post my completed blu ray laser engraver, so here it is. Please leave questions or comments if you have any.
I have decided that I will be using dvd rw drives to build my laser engraver in order to save space and reduce overall cost. Rather than extracting the red diode and putting it into an aixiz module, would it be possible to keep the diode inside the sled and use the preexisting optics? Although...
For the cnc laser engraver that I have been wanting to build for a while, I wanted to build my own driver rather than buying one just so I could get more experience and understanding of the inner workings of laser drivers. I like BionicBadger's design from this thread...
Its been a while since I made a post on here. Anyway, I have recently been browsing laser modules that I would like to use for a homemade laser engraver (I mentioned this idea a while ago but I am no longer considering an infrared laser). As far as I know, the most powerful laser diodes are up...
I was taking apart an old Lexmark printer at school and found this diode. Since the diode is from a printer, its probably <1mw, but this diode has a lot of heat sinking for such a low power. This makes me curious and wanting to power it. Any thoughts?
After building a decent amount of visible laser pointers, I want to build an IR laser using this: 5W 808nm C Mount Laser Diode CW Semiconductor Diode TO3 SEALED w H Fac Lens | eBay . Are there any combiners that can collimate separate c mount or to3 packages into a single beam? My goal is for...
Its been a week since I made a laser with the NDB7875 at 2.4A. After burning some cardboard with it, I noticed there was splash caused by a piece of dust on the side of the lens closest to the diode. I cleaned it off with a q tip and rubbing alcohol but I am just wondering how a piece of dust...
Today I finished my 3W beast. The all aluminum finish combined with the blue beam looks awesome.
Specs:
-445nm
-2x 18650 2300mAh
-blitz buck V5 survival laser driver @ 2.4A
-three elements glass lens
- NDB7875 from DTR
I got bored and decided to shine my 405nm Blu-ray laser at highlighter juice. I was hoping for a yellow dot but the juice does not transmit the beam very well, even with a 445nm.
For my first RG yellow laser build, I used red and green laser pens from ebay like these 3pcs Green Blue Violet Red Light Beam Powerful 5mW Laser Pointer Pen | eBay . The red runs off of a 2x AAA battery pack but the green runs off of a 9v because of some heat damage while I was soldering it...
Im trying to build a yellow laser by combining red and green laser pens from ebay. After soldering a lead to the green laser, the dot was very dim and I thought the heat from soldering ruined the laser. Then I upped the voltage from 3v to 9v and the brightness increased significantly. Will the...
I want to make a rg yellow laser by combining 650 and 532nm beams with a pass green reflect red dichroic mirror. Can this mirror double as an ir filter for the 532nm laser or will the ir be reflected? Thanks.
I just received my new bdr-209 in the aixiz module and fired it up. I am using a survival lasers 600ma driver, two 3.7v lithium ion batteries, and a 405-445 G2 lens. There is no beam or heat, and the dot will not focus properly. I do not know what is wrong. :banghead:
I extracted my first bdr-209 diode and set it into the aixiz housing module. After testing it at 600ma, there is a dot, but here is no beam and it seems too underpowered. I cant tell if the connections are bad, the diode is not pressed properly, or if it is ruined. Does anyone know what the...
I want to make a test load for a blu ray bdr-209. I am looking for a circuit that shows how to make it because the only circuits I found are for the lower power blu ray diodes. I may buy this: Heavy Duty Test Load Kit for Laser Diode Driver 3000mA | eBay to make the bdr-209 test load after a...
After my first green build, I want to build a driver for a 405 bdr-209 diode. I saw driver circuits for blu rays on this forum that consisted of an lm317, a capacitor, and resistors, but they are for lower power diodes. I have a 7805 but I can get a lm317 instead if its necessary. I would...
I finally finished my first green build. I tried to get a good picture of the GITD but my camera wont pick it up well.
diode: plp520-b1
driver: 445ma from survival lasers
host: C6 (I added GITD paint)
batteries: 2x 16340 3.7v 650mAh Nitecore
lens: acrylic
The host, driver and heat sink was a...
Im attempting to build my first green laser. I am using a plp520 diode with an acrylic lens and a 445ma driver, and the battery is a 3.7v nitecore. The battery is charged but all I get is a very dim green dot. Does anybody know what may be wrong?
I have seen different variations of 16x blu ray writers such as bdr 209, bdr 209dbk, and wh16ns40. Can all 16x blu ray diodes be driven to about 600ma to get about 900mw?
