Hey, the project is working fine, everything is nice..
I told my physics teacher about it and she wanted to see it, then brought me into a few conventions with it, didn't want to go but it went swell and I won several awards
Seems like no one has presented this kind of thing.
Now...
Well its for a school project and I wouldn't want to take an NST to there :P
I got the ZVS driver hooked it up, works real good.
Right now I just need to remake my capacitors and all should be good :)
I'm not thinking you are denigrating my work, I'm just taking this as some tips I need to follow, now I'm going to go and try to tune things properly and expect something better than what I have now. Thanks for the response :)
Hello, geekies, I built a tesla coil not long ago with a flyback and some saltwater capacitors.
So lets get to the point, I have saltwater capacitors which I want to change to normal capacitors that I need help determining which ones I need and what would their capacity be.
I got a crummy home...
I'm sorry, I meant ZVS :yabbem: too much stuff going trough my head today.
Was thinking of getting this:
Banggood-zvs driver
Why banggood? because ebay is unavailable in my country and as far as I'm aware no electronic shops around me supply zvs drivers.
As you can see I used some saltwater capacitors, going to go buy proper ones.
And maybe an SVD driver for the flyback.
So I made the sgtc and I'm seeking more advice and stuff.
I'm aware of the transistor heating up, I'm not running it more than 30secs or so, I don't need it on for so long, it was an experimentation circuit, I actually ordered an already made ZVS driver which would be better
this was the chematic:

I'm new to electronics to be honest, still don't really know the differences between diodes etc. and what it even does in the schematic, altough I know that the diode needs to be reversed. I could then replace it...
I used 1n4007 and it worked, asked on other electronic forums plenty users told me it should work because it has somewhat same specifications etc. for my application
but here have a video of my thingy working
I wanted to ask if there are 1N4937 diode equivalents and where to find them (without buying them), I want to tear something apart and take the diode from there, because no electronic shops supply them without buying them in bulk and I only need 1 of them for a flyback driver
You could unsolder the pins from the ld and then solder a new laser driver. Or just get a new ld with a driver allready soldered on.
P.S Make a thread in Welcome section so we would know wich country are you at.
Does anyone know what laser diodes comes out of
Lite-On SHW-16H5S
and
LG Super Multi GH22NP20
Because I really can't find any info on the diodes, maybe someone encountered some of them? Because I found someone selling both of these for 12euro.
Maybe it might be a good buy?:undecided:
I'm not a pro at builing, I'm starting to build lasers too (I have a lot of questions too, but most of them are solved). But some basic soldering stuff you should learn and buy IMO. You should buy some perfboards and learn to solder on them (If you are going to build you'r own drivers), desolder...
