Spoon fed? I asked a specific question that I could not find an answer to. If its too much trouble to type an answer don't. If you don't have a clue to the answer and just want to post wise ass remarks to up your post count you should just move on.
I have three IR lights from china, $80 they...
I want to build an IR laser for use with night vision. I want one as a pointer and one as a throw light, only to be visible by night vision equipment.
Can anyone recommend the best spectrum for my needs, the best host and source for all the above.
I would like to be able to run it on...
Like hwang21, I also have a pair Laser Glow OD+7 glasses and can't say enough good things about them. They are crystal clear compared to my Eagles +5. Both are very good glasses and while not cheap at $40-$80 a pair my eyes are worth Much More.
In my mind you should own a GOOD set of...
I use optics cleaner on my very expensive scopes. Its safe for all surfaces, glass (coated and uncoated), plastic, camera lenses, rifle scopes and binoculars. It works great, leaves no residue, lint or fiber behind. It doesn't have to be this brand, but they make some high end optics.
Two blondes were walking through the woods hunting when they came upon a set of tracks. The first blonde said to the second blonde ssshhh, those are bear tracks. The second blonde laughed and in a condescending tone said I can tell you are a novice hunter, those are deer tracks! the first...
Okay, I don't feel too bad now, it is a very slippery slope. Pi R Squared, I have about half of your list, (not the expensive half) but I have a few pairs of high quality glasses, first thing I ordered. I am working on an LPM, if I ever get a pm back from a certain member.:yh:
10fenny, thanks for the quick reply. I didn't think it would be that cut and dried. I'm thinking about buying a few diodes with drivers, money permitting just in case. Is that normal? Do people have more diodes than hosts. I think this is going to be a slippery slope!
I may be answering my own question with a question, but when a diode burns out, is the diode the only thing you have you have to replace? Is the driver reusable? Or is it an unknown variable.
Just wanted to hear from the pro's what the normal course of action is.
I didn't realize your post was directed at me, to answer your question, I absolutely do not want war, been there, it should be an absolute last resort only after everything else has failed.
My point was war is so horrific, that if you are going to engage in it ENGAGAGE IN IT! The following is...
It defiantly gets hot after 10 minutes on high, but for its size and the amount of light it throws I give it a pass. It also has 4 modes so you don't have to stay at 1100 lumen. Like you said its size make it small enough to carry, and still throw a ton of light.
I have owned this flashlight for a year now. It is with me on a daily basis and I am very impressed with it, so I thought I would share it with the forum. It is a Zebra model 600SC it takes a single 18650 battery, puts out1100 lumen on high mode, and is very compact. It is very rugged/durable...
[Qthejoeyss;1354389]My recommendation is that you start with a 638nm single mode build as they need much less of a heatsink than other wavelengths and even 200mw will be amazingly bright. It's enough to burn and light matches and pop balloons. Don't go full crazy into those mutilwatt 445s until...
