Are laser diodes durable enough to be used as light sources in prop lightsaber hilts?

I've got a saberforge saber already, but I wasn't impressed with the electronics. I have a hilt on the way (I think saberforge hilts are better-looking than ultrasabers, and I don't doubt the quality of the hilts as I do the electronics). I wanted to do custom internals on the new hilt, and had...

    My experience with Sanwu

I don't have a LPM to test the power of the lasers, but as far as I know, Sanwu is one of the (if not the) most trusted companies on these forums, so I would bet in favor of the power being very accurate.

Are laser diodes durable enough to be used as light sources in prop lightsaber hilts?

I'm seriously considering using a laser diode instead of a CREE LED module as the light source in a Saberforge lightsaber hilt. In general, are laser diodes durable enough that I could put one inside of a lightsaber hilt and use the lightsaber for dueling, or would the impactful nature of prop...

    My experience with Sanwu

;) It's more turquoise than blue in person. Also, it's not stated on their website but the inside of the honeycomb-style head accessory is threaded, with the same size threads as the un-accessorized laser head module. This means you can thread on a diffraction grating/kaleidoscope accessory...

    My experience with Sanwu

Bought a Pocket 520nm 150mw and a Challenger II 60mw 488nm with batteries and a charger from Sanwu. Both worked great for two weeks, but the Challenger developed an issue in week 2. The eam was dim with freshly charged batteries. I emailed Sanwu and got in touch with Francis, who suggested some...

    Hello from Massachusetts USA

Hello MMacD, I'm new here too from Massachusetts :D Although I'm a new member, I have a lot of experience with lasers, I hope I can help for a cat-toy laser, I would recommend buying something from dx.com (if you don't mind a 3 week-1 month wait) but it's the best deal you can get, they only...

hi! first post, I need a good 100-130mw module

I've decided to order a 100-130mw greenie from odicforce.com and I was wondering, the website says that it takes 750-770ma from 3.2 volts, does this mean it can go into a 18650 host? not modified, still taking the 3.7 volt 18650 thanks all

hi! first post, I need a good 100-130mw module

Hi from massachusetts, first post and already asking questions :o after extensive searching on the internet for a (true) 100mw green module, I've come up with nothing. the most common problems are that I don't trust the site, the module is way too cheap to be true, or the site doesn't accept...
