I'm in the same boat, PP/Venmo or I'd rather not join this GB unfortunately... I'm fine with sending PP as friends/family if that helps
A few questions for Len/Gray:
1) did we confirm a 800mW 532nm PL-E Mini in black? If so, put me down for one. If the Mini only goes to 600mW, then put me down...
Nice job! Would be interested in seeing pics of the teardown/reassembly of the host, but no biggie if you didn't take any 🍻 that unlimited duty cycle is very nice!
I wasn't really intending to give the message of using laser goggles to observe a laser beam shining into the sky at night, as that would be rather pointless lol. I simply meant to draw attention to the potential of it being a hazard - yes, I know the risk is small, but I'd rather say "you COULD...
Nice review! I think it would have been nice to splice the pictures in where you mention them rather than having them all at the end. Eliminates a lot of scrolling :p
I have bought from LG before, and can vouch for their quality and customer service. I just find their prices exorbitant, even...
I disagree with your statement about duration of exposure for a bug flying through the beam - this IS very potentially hazardous to your eyes, especially with Class IV lasers. 5mW is the limit for an *accidental* exposure of laser light to not damage your eyes. In this case, accidental meaning...
@XM360 your video is quite good! :D The only thing I might add would be to label the wavelengths of your lasers when you showcase your laser "rainbow" - might help people understand which wavelength numbers correspond to which colors "at-a-glance" (and showcase how cool different laser colors...
Hi Miya,
Welcome to the forum! To answer your question, if it is very dark where you live in the countryside (no light pollution), I would think that people a few miles away will be able to see your laser when you shine it into the sky. I know that on the beach at night I've had people that...
Yeah, I'm not asking for a custom build at GB prices - merely to combine the shipping costs and such (and see if my LPM agrees with yours!). Actually, I'm asking Gray to give me whatever price he thinks is reasonable for my request - a blank check, so to speak ;) I just wanted to give you a...
@hakzaw1 - just a heads-up, trying to get in touch with Gray on a custom JL to see if it can be grouped into your GB - he has not replied to my email yet, but it's only been a day
Also definitely eyeing that 1W 520nm Mini - any ideas as to which 520nm diode they use?
Lastly, are all...
I'm a bit surprised that this has not sold, tbh - an Ophir-equipped LPM for $350 is a good deal...
Quick question - what do you think that Ophir head can handle power-wise with that heatsink installed?
@Cyparagon, do you happen to have any examples of what the absorbance of a thermopile sensor looks like across the general 300nm-1500nm band? I imagine it to be relatively even in a broad sense, but I would be hesitant to believe that the thermopile material is completely uniformly black across...
@Lifetime17,
I think you misunderstood what we were asking. The Sanwu Tracer LPM comes with a setting to input the wavelength of your laser in order to increase the accuracy of the LPM. See "Wavelength discriminations" in the description of the LPM near the bottom of the page...
Pro tip: 70-80% ethanol (ethyl alcohol) is the most effective against encapsulated viruses like coronavirus - but 30 seconds of immersion is just barely enough to destroy the bare virus. If there's anything like oils/grease/mucus, the denaturing effect of alcohol is greatly reduced - it can take...
Personally, I would describe 488nm as a bright cyan, kinda like a sky blue. Remember that everyone sees colors differently - subtly, but differently
Without another close wavelength laser to compare to, you will never notice the few nm differences. If you held 470nm and 532nm next to each...
