how do I find out the difference between SCC and SOC? well it lights quite bright. but on surfaces can only be seen when i put the lens in front of it.
Hey there. I am still trying around with the parts from the dvd burner. I found a lens in it wich manages to get the laserlight into a really small dot but the laser just wont burn. I even had the resistor down to 4ohm and it still didnt seem to do anything. the diode gets a little warm in the...
Hey. I have some questions that I couldn't find answers which were really satisfying .
I still dont exactly know how focusing a laser really works. I have a small red diode and a collimator both from a dvd burner. what is the best way to find out how to focus it? I mean yeah i can point it on a...
one question for me to understand: if i put two resistors parallel does their resistance and everything simply add up? like when I have two resistors of 3 Ohms and like 0.13 W does that make a total resistance of 6 Ohms and tolerance of 0.26 W ?
intereting!
so back to the initial diode of this threat.
would it be possible to make a heatsink efficient enough to cool this thing while running in non pulsed mode? or would the plastic of the diode melt before the heat can reach the heatsink?
i see.
I thought it would be a great feature to have an IR laser change its colors, especially when experimenting with it and one needs to see the beam to see where it goes excactly
Interesting really. Wouldnt these stacks also be good for a cnc laser?
Is water cooling the only possibility? I thought If one cuts down on power or on the small scale then maybe heatpipes and a radiator with a fan could do the job.
@mariomaster: since I am now curious about how strong diodes...
but when the diodes are that close together dont they overheat in seconds?
wouldnt heatpipes be useful for cooling this? And if you need this massive cooling anyway, why not have one powerful diode in a really big heatsink?
Oh ok. I thought maybe you could put the diode in a reaaly good heatsinking or active cooling system.. but that wouldnt be enough?
how does your diode bar work then?
ahh ok so the pulses are way too short for the wattage to matter? (I thought maybe you could decide wether to pulse or not)
then I am curious about how strong the strongest laser diode is? i saw some with 10w that were definetely not pulsed but I heard there are even stronger diodes
