High-Power 200mW Red Laser Pen (Burns Match + Visible Beam Daytime) [E0648] : Electronic Gadgets, Home Gifts & Unusual Novelty Gifts - BestOfferBuy
The bad news is it took over 12 weeks to arrive and I had just written it off as a total loss. But it finally came. I measured it...
If a flex drive is adjusted to a fixed current output (900mA) at 5 volts input, then if the input voltage is increased will the current remain stable? If the input voltage is increased, will the driver get hotter?
I have a DIY blue laser running off a wall wart at 5 v but I'm thinking of...
I have a slight tremor and haven't been able to attach leads to diodes the usual soldered way. I got a wirewrap tool from radio shack and started attaching leads to laser diodes using this. It works fine and I have a couple of burning working lasers that I used this technique to get the leads...
I've seen the data graphs and some of the product numbers, and I've burned up some RLD65PZB5 diodes I got on ebay by pushing them to 400ma (obviously a bad idea).
But search as I may, I cant find a seller for a red diode that will withstand prolonged 400ma input.
Anyone know where to get them...
Interesting FYI news
This news is from Popular Science on an apparently brand new technique for creating lasers
Headline:
MIT offshoot develops a new technique to create more powerful direct diode laser systems.
Company is called Terradiode.
They plan on developing anti missile defenses among...
1 are 455nm and 405nm lasers both "pumped" by infra red? I think I read that anything above 660 in pumped?
2 If they are, is some of the burning they produce really the result of IR contamination?
3 At a given MW power, are all of the frequencies 660, 455, and 405 equivalent in burning effect...
In a pointer of course the current is pre set, so you can have a 200mw or a 300mw pointer. But are the diodes really different. Are most of these diodes the same. On the diodes compilation here :

I bought a Blu Ray 445nm diode in a module from DTR here on the forum.
I put it in a large finned heat sink and I connected it to a controlled current controlled voltage lab power supply. I replaced the lens with a glass one.
Once I got it to lase at low power I focused it.
Then I put a black...
