I'm a bit late adding to this but I got mine from megalaseruk; they're based in the UK so no customs to get through and next day delivery. Quite pricey but mine is fantastic. £44 for 50mW green, ordered wednesday night and received friday morning.
I know it's not always about power, but spending £150 on a laser than the beam is not visible, is not easy to move around and can send the dot maybe 100m seems a little excessive.
You say harder to produce wave lengths can be made, are they adjustable (can I buy a HeNe or something that can...
30W?! that's got to be enough to like... burn through a building, or person or something :P
But what I don't get is the attraction of a 3mw HeNe laser for the same price of a 150mW standard. What can a HeNe laser do?
Sorry for being so noobieish
I only heard of Gas lasers when joining this forum but don't get them at all. They seem to be 0.5-5mW but cost ridiculous amounts; $100+ for a 1mW laser?
What's different about them to normal lasers and why are they so popular?
Thanks :)
How on earth did you get that? I presume you didn't pay the thousands of dollars price tag. If reviewing how did you get chosen?
And what is WL policy on customs? If UK Customs was to seize that the purchaser would not be happy ;)
@ david High power green laser pointers and red laser pointers from the UK. Power output from 20Mw to 300Mw of extreme power.
@ blue lasers; it appears to be about 1.5cm in a bright room, i'm not wearing googles and perhaps it's crap, perhaps it's fine. Check the pictures to see.
I got a 50mW (from megalaserUK and no IR filter, so how poweful it actually is is anyone's guess) but it's absolutely amazing. It was £44 delivered to UK or $84 worldwide. At night the beam is STUNNING. Dot is easily seen on clouds, etc. Just be sensible and there is nothing to worry about.
MegaLaserUK - the site with mixed reviews just about everywhere though most are unclear. Hopefully this will be clear :)
To get the bad points out of the way:
I ordered it on wednesday night, about 9pm BST. I payed with credit card and I immediatly noticed 2 things: the first that it didn't...
The classic green :)
It's clearly not 50 (<50 on label) and it doesn't mention IR filters, so it could be 30-49.9. I don't know how bright the beam should be but i'm hoping i'll be able to clearly see it tonight into the sky.
I can say absolutely nothing negative about this site!
It's arrived :) I'll post pictures later but I ordered it just before 9pm BST on wednesday. I payed with my credit card and got no confirmation e-mail. I a bit worried but it arrived the next morning, well within the 24 hours it said it...
So I still haven't made my decision about which laser to go for :P
After deal extreme said products could take up to a month to arrive and took no responsibilities once it left them (customs charges, confiscations, etc) I lost confidence.
megalaseruk.com are (obviously) based in the UK and...
Thanks for the info, but once again i'm looking at a cheap, starter laser. I'm not looking for a burning laser (though one that can pop balloons is a bonus).
I should have pointed out; i'm in the UK so need cheap shipping as many companies import from china, charging up to £30 shipping. And i'm not really looking for a $160 laser, but more of a $30.
Hi,
I'm not sure if the 50mw pen or the 50mw focusable pen with the keylock is best. Is the focuser good? Will it help me make it less 'powerfu'l for pointing around and more when popping, etc?
What is petter for size, divergence, power, usability, looks, feel, straightness of beem (comes out...
Thanks for the info, but I won't be ordering from optotronics (though I really wanted to). I'm looking for a 35-50 and at £35 costs on top of a £40 laser it doesn't seem worth it, despite it being high quality.
I'm thinking of this, for £18 (DealExtreme: $33.49 Focusable 50mW Green Laser...
*NB: I posted this in companies, then realised it's probably best here :)*
Hi all,
I'm thinking of going for the 40mw green laser from optotronics (Optotronics Product Details) and it comes to about $105 with shipping ($27 shipping, would save almost $20 by being in US, but oh well) which is...
