Re: dilda DX 200 burning power

I know it sounds a bit basic, but have you checked your batteries on a multimeter? I bought a couple of rechargable CR2s from DX with mine, and one of the batteries is consistently down to about 1.8v after being fully charged. Sometimes I can charge...
To be honest, when I first read the title my eyes skimmed over the extra 'ev' in lasever and I read it simply as laser.
Of course, if the title had leading caps on the brand name, being as it's a proper-noun and all then it might not have been misread... ::)
Nice unit though...
Seriously...stop making these poor life-choices. Just stop it now or you're going to do yourself harm!
Not sure what the health services are like in Spain, but in the UK, you could approach your doctor and tell him your story. If you tell him that you have become seriously depressed because of...
Sony's Water and Laser Hologram
I'm not entirely sure what's going on here, but it looks good. And it uses lasers, so I'm in!

Here you go:
Going anti-clockwise from 12 o'clock gives you the Violet laser diode. There's Red and IR too.
Do you know if anyone here has made switching circuitry to utilise each of these diodes from the one can?
Good luck with...

No problem, just done it now. Apologies for that, I assumed the page did it all for me. D'oh!

Ummm.....a bit on the cruel side, don't you think?
Of more value to society would be to glue jobless neds you the front of your car/carriage after (humanely) freezing them. Whilst not as quick as a regular car, it's far more environmentally friendly!

Dimensions are 0.693" by 1"
So they're not 6", they're 0.6", or rather 1.76 centimeters. i.e. Very small.
If you wish to make your own device then my advice to you would be to pay for a couple of his drivers. Wait the requisit amount of time for them to be...

I've had no real trouble in being able to focus the beam over a wide range of lengths.
I've been able to burn bags between 8" and 15' (feet). I have found it difficult to collimate after I initially set it to burn stuff, but I figure that's just because it's unwieldy to move it around...
Hi SargeMX5
It's possible that you could extract the entire diode and place it in an Aixis module. However, the optics on this diode are already fairly decent and it comes with a screw focus on the front for easy adjustment.
What benefit are you expecting from the Aixis?
Hi Tomcat
1. Is it a Senkat diode you're using?
2. What kind of postage to the UK would you be getting for £4, Special Delivery?
3. Any extra charge for paypal.
Thanks in advance

So what was the problem with your unit? Was the pot wedged at some insanely high resistance meaning that it didn't wanna lase?
I've just got mine up and running having soldered a USB cable onto the laser and it's great. I've set the focal distance to around 8 inches and it...

Have you managed to drive your LD off this driver yet?
As a (albeit inefficient) test, could you just stick 2-4 ohms worth of resistors on the output of this circuit to bring the current down to a managable 75-150 mA?
Anyone?
Using the camera and measuring the average brightness within your controlled environment sounds like a good start to doing this and especially if you have no other tools.
The only problems I can forsee with this method is that the camera sensor will have a variable frequency response so might...
Oh, and is anyone else on this site hoping to with the 25W cutter on instructables. Perhaps some organised voting is in order to secure this valuable item.
And btw - verrry nice instructable!
