Is anyone using a rechargeable battery in their Dorcy Jr. Blu-ray 803t build? If so, does the FlexDrive have to be recalibrated with the higher voltage cell? Standard lithiums really get drained quickly in these lasers. Thank you.
I have seen yes, no and maybe concerning using (red lens) goggles for green lasers to effectively protect us while using Blu's. Has anyone done any definitive testing on this? This should be a pretty important topic considering how many Blu-Rays are being built and used. Like I've said before...
I am now on my second (they replaced the first defective laser) :) but the new one didn't last very long either. Same symptoms; dim output, funky switch, etc. . . >:(
Does anyone have a foolproof disassembly technique without destroying the thing? I've tried heat, brute force all the standard...
After my DX True 30 conked out from the typical problems, I wrote to them and they told me they would indeed replace it. It took quite a while but I did receive a new one a few days ago. Although the first laser easily popped balloons and had a somewhat brighter beam (since I don't have a power...
After having (finally ::)) built Kenom's DIY using Senkat's GB LD, I'm wondering what the shape of the focused dot should look like. Instead of being circular, it resembles a "crescent moon" shape. Is this normal for this laser? Thanks.
Who actually makes the lasers Nova sells? And, is Nova just a dealer or do the tweak the units for best output? I just bought a X-45 and am very happy with it. Nova itself and its staff, seems to be a very nice place to deal with. Thanks!
Here's a nice chart indicating the thermal conductivity of various materials. I think our Axisz modules are just plated steel which is a relatively poor conductor but these units are the foudation of our projects so we're stuck with them. So, select the heatsink material wisely. Aluminum is best...
Here's a small "High Tech Look" case I bought at Office Max for $10.00. It was sold as a pencil box and is branded VAULTZ. Anyway, I thought it looked cool and could easily be made into a nice, safe enclosure for my lasers. I just used the discarded foam from an old Maxtor hard drive box to line...
I just ordered an X45 with the following specs:
Average Output Power: 62.3 mW
Peak Output Power: 67.9 mW
I haven't received it yet but it seems like a lot of laser for the money. You guys agree?
Hey Guys and Ladies:
I bought this guy from Radio Shack between 10 and 15 years ago (maybe more?) and I think the price was around $79.99. At the time, it was one of the coolest gadgets I owned and It's been well taken care of. It is in near mint condition with original box and is being sold as...
I just received mine and the beam is considerably brighter than my WL Core but it sure does not pop balloons. Is anyone able to do this without a lens in front of the aperture? \
I'm running this thing on Duracel Alkalines and when they're new, the beam seems stable but after a while not so.
Have any of you been able to use the Hong Kong tracking number in our postal system? Every time I enter it in the USPS tracking box, it returns a "not found" result. According to DX, my True 30mw green was shipped on the 22 of September and all they can tell me is to check my post office. As a...
With all of the talk of these lasers getting dim and/or "dying" not long after receiving them, could it just be a simple case of lousy switches? When I receive mine and if it fails, that's the first thing I'm going to check. I don't think it's worth sending this back to China at my expense so I...
OK Guys:
I know there is a lot of info here about this company's products, both good and bad reviews. I know that SenKat likes these lasers and I would appreciate his input here as well.
What is the absolute bottom line on this under $30.00 laser? I read that this model is probably the most...
