    Sanwu Spiker - 3W vs 5w

Also, to help wrap my head around - why is a blue from Opto of similar (2w) power $17,000? Was that not the price of admission from 10 years ago or so?

    Sanwu Spiker - 3W vs 5w

It is possible I misunderstood him. I just re-read his email. He stated that Laser over 3W usually have poor divergence due to multi-diode - thats all. He then proceeded to say that his 3W 445nm laser has a divergance of 1.3mrad with the G7 and would be the best option for me as I wanted a good...

    Sanwu Spiker - 3W vs 5w

Hey Guys, After speaking with Francis I ended up going with the 3W 445nm. It uses a single mode diode where the 5w 445 and 4w 465 are using multi-mode diodes and therefore have a wider beam divergence. I used to have a 150mw green laser I got back 6-7 years ago after doing some research here...

    Sanwu Spiker - 3W vs 5w

What would be the size of the beam at lets say 6 miles? I guess, I am looking for a burner along with something that can reach out there, but without the 3x adapter if possible. Thanks!

    Sanwu Spiker - 3W vs 5w

I am looking to get either one. And would like to know which one has the least beam divergence of the two. I would like to avoid the 3x if possible. Thank you

    Optotronics VS LaserGlow

thanks for all the replies. Ya I will most likely go opto. dlmb I am not quite in the market for one yet, just getting my research done. Also, I am not going to spend more than what an rpl 165 or there abouts costs new. As an fyi. You can shoot me a pm when you want to sell and I will get back...

    Optotronics VS LaserGlow

Do you think it is worth it to get an extra 7% off for just accepting a 90 day warranty? Theru have that option as well. Also, is it worth $100 more to get the rpl 200? or should I just stick with the 165? I know the more the better but for right now I just want an rpl so if it makes no diff I...

    Optotronics VS LaserGlow

Don't Laze thx for your help. YOur the only one chiming in!!! Ok I will make an account with them. I also heard if you just "ask" for a discount the owner sometimes hooks it up. Is that true?

    Optotronics VS LaserGlow

Anyone else have opinions? Dont laze me, do you know if there are discounts for their lasers?

    Optotronics VS LaserGlow

One thing that "concerns" me is that it takes a rechargeable battery. Since it looks as though you have an rpl, what is your average battery life? To the others continue to answer the original question as well as this if you like. I'm not trying to change the Q yet....

    Optotronics VS LaserGlow

I want to but either the aries series from LG in the 150mw range or the 165mw opto. Which one do you think would be a better buy? The opto is a little more $ and they look real clean, but again its more $. Also when you order the opto it asks if you want "full" laser certification. What does...

    Laser Brands?

I havent been in the "game" sort of speak for a while. Last laser was a Nova 125. That was a few years ago. I sold it and moved on. Now I want another laser. I am thinking about LaserGlow, they seem to be well liked. Should I just get one of those or is there another brand I should look at. thx

    FS: NOVA Lasers Alpha 125

cuz thats where I want to start the price, if you can get a better deal go for it. It never hurts to make an offer either :-? No one says you have to buy it. Seems like a waste of time for you guys to make a pointless post. Everyone here knows what they go for. If have questions about the laser...

    FS: NOVA Lasers Alpha 125

I have an alpha 125 for sale. Has been used possibly for a total of 10 minutes-at most. Comes with key, earphone fob, metal case, laser, a set of batteries (already in the laser plenty of juice left), and outer box. -peak= 139.3 MW -Avg=136.7 MW $340, no paypal charges, will pay for shipping...

    divergence question

So I recently upgraded from an alpha 105 to 125 and noticed that the dot on trees at about 1/4 mile away is smaller with the 125 than 105. Does that mean the beam divergence is better?
  16. P

    just recived my alpha 105-questions.

got ya, thanks for the clarification. Question, whats the furthest you guys have shined a 120 mw green laser where you know somebody visibly saw it at the other end?
  17. P

    just recived my alpha 105-questions.

hmm well to the human eye wouldn't it be harder to see? I mean isn't that why its hard to see during the day? I know the beam is still there but our eyes have a harder time picking it up because of the light.

    just recived my alpha 105-questions.

ok so I dont have exact calculations but I would say I am 4 miles away from my house up on a big hill/mountain. I again shined the laser at my house with my friend helping direct me. They turned the lights off and sure enough the laser was very visible and it lit up the kitchen!! COOL! BTW the...

    Optotronics RPL-165 vs. nova 105 (avg 120mw)

I have the nova 105. I am just curious on the beam difference at lets say 5 miles away. Not too worried about burning stuff.

    Optotronics RPL-165 vs. nova 105 (avg 120mw)

OK. More out of curiosity, what would be the difference in distance the beam would visibly go? I guess I would Assume the optotronics would test higher than 165mw, so take that into consideration. Any other differences as well are welcome. Thanks, Justin
