445nm diode glows after being turned off.

I just noticed this tonight. I was using my 445nm 65mW in pure darkness, and when I turned it off I happened to bring the now off laser past my hand and I noticed some light still coming out of the laser. At first I thought it was a reflection of the streetlights outside or something, but...

445nm Chrome leadlight pen host - 65mW *LOTS OF PICS*

Well I finally put together a 445 build! :yh: I wanted a low powered 445 for general pointing purposes (I don't care much for burning), and I wanted one in a pen host. I purchased a few of Jayrobs pen host kits, which are really nice BTW (link), and a 445nm diode installed in a AixiZ module...

Acquiring 445nm diodes direct from manufacture.

I just wonder when this is going to happen. Because right now everybody gets the 445 diodes from the Casio projectors. But what happens when somebody manages to get them direct from the manufacturer? Even paying $850 for a projector, the diodes work out to be $35 or so each. Which is still...

    Coherent LaserCheck LPM with 445nm.

I have had a Coherent LaserCheck for a few years now. It works great with greens and reds. But it is absolutely abysmal with 405nm, with 30% or more inaccuracy. I am going to be starting my first 445nm build tomorrow if the parts show up, and I am wondering how accurate my LPM is going to be...

    445nm vs 532nm brightness comparison.

I realize a 532nm is going to be perceived as significantly brighter to a equal output 445nm laser. What I would like to know is the estimated guess in brightness from people who have personally compared their 445's to their 532's. For example. Lets say somebody has a 1000mW 445nm, and they...

WTB: 445nm 150-250mW in host ready to go.

Host: I have no real requirements here. Just as long as it looks good, is easily portable, and isn't too big or bulky. Side button preferred but not a deal breaker if it isn't. Pen style would be great if possible. Also needs adjustable lens, not fixed. 405-G-1 lens not required...

DX 5mW red laser driver. Possible use for violet?

EDIT: Just to clarify so the thread doesnt get moved to the red laser section, this does have to do with violet lasers...its just a long read  ;D I have just recently started to get into the whole DIY stuff with violet lasers.  I must admit, its very interesting and a great learning...

So, what are my options here?

Ok, I just got my laser module+driver today.  It is a build from wannaburn, it's a PHR-803T with a LM317T driver.   Problem is, I really have no idea how to get this built into a host. Mostly, due to the length of this build, I am having trouble finding a proper host from DX.   The overall...

    Advice/suggestions on partial DIY project.

A few days ago I was doing my standard look through ebay for some decent deals on 405nm lasers.  Basically, it had to be decently priced, and have a driver built on.  Well, I found this and went and purchased it. (anybody have any experience with this particular laser?).  It takes 7.2 to 9...

    First Impressions: eBay pen-style 10mW 405nm(pics)

Alright, just got my laser today. Incredibly fast shipping from the UK to US, California (5 days total.) I open it up, and pop in the batteries. To say it lightly, I was shocked. :o The violet dot is just so mysterious. And as everybody has said, hard to focus on, which creates a weird...

A taste of chrome - New Pulsar mini- review

First I want to apologize for not having a full fledged review with lots of pics and specs...But truth be told, I don't have the time nor initiative to make a big review. I had good intentions, but with everything else I have going on, it just wasn't meant to be. So I still had a few key specs...

New Chromed Pulsar - Teaser pre-review

Here is a slight taste of the new Pulsar(Wicked Lasers) This is not my review, my review will have a LOT more pictures and will have videos, divergence specs, Lasercheck readings etc. This is just a little chunk of the pictures I took today, and just so you can get an idea of what this baby...
