PHR-803T in Aixiz with Flexdrive V4!

I have a laser not in a host, but in an Aixiz module and with a powersupply running at 2xAA. It's a PHR-803T which means it's a violet beam. The beam is very visible doing night and evening, and is slightly visible inside in daytime. It can easily pop balloons, and i haven't tried, but i'm...

First DIY laser - it works!

Hey! I just wanna say that i made my first laser :D It's a blu-ray laser, i used a PHR-803T diode for it. It's set at 100mA, so i guess it's putting out ~92mW. It can burn a bit on many surfaces, but not very much. Can make scratches etc. :) It also stings my skin :P I'll post some pics soon :D

    B: Aluminium powder(leftover from heatsink?)

Hey. I am interested in buying some aluminium powder :) I've made this topic on LPF because i thought that all the people who make heatsinks, get some aluminium powder leftover when making alu heatsinks. (Correct me if i am wrong) it's not something i'm willing to pay loads for, but i will pay...

I've been planning on making the famous "Pocket Pal" Blu-Ray laser, but the prices stuns me. Before everything i order, i make a list of it, just to see what it will totally cost. There's one thing i wonder about, how can someone make a pocket pal for 55$?  Here's what i've calculated...

Changing LD on a Romisen laser

Hey people :) I got a Romisen L-B030 ( http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.10557 ) yesterday, and i'm not disapointed, but i would like to change the diode. The 30 mW Romisen leaks some IR, but if i change the diode to ~50 mW and put an IR filter on, wouldn't it be safer / the same as the...
