    diode laser driver

I've rebuilt the pcb using an OPA177 with a dual power supply, works well. I'll post pics soon. runs well for 0-5A, with some adjustments this may become a pretty good laser diode driver.

    diode laser driver

I've built two version of this driver, one based on the simple schematic, another one based on this schematic, but without good results. In the second schematic I've replaced the MAX480 with any single supply opamp I had laying there, tried TL082, LM358N, NE5532, OPA2228 without getting any...

YABR - Yet another BRD Build :)

I've just finished building my first Blue Ray laser, got today in the morning some nicely assembled diodes from BluRay :) It's build in a simple electronics project box, with a LM317-based variable current driver. Maximum current is set to 130mA, with a push button to get it to about 160. By...

DX - Red 200mW or True Green 100mW

Looking at the reviews on the true 100mW greenie, it doesn't look so good... If you want a burning laser, go for the heavily tested 200mW red. If you want a good green laser, pick up a true 30 or 50mW, the 100mW one is just a IR flood.

    The dilda driver ?

http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1224120943 here you'll find many things :) btw, I'm considering to modify the original driver on underpowered dildas... just need the schematic :)

    DX200 Red (Dilda) Update

laserbee be careful... these are PRIMARY batteries, they aren't rechargeable. so you will never get 4V out of them :)

    New Laser power meter

yep that's all. I've left an email to the seller, as soon as I'll get some DX lasers I'll try it. at the moment I don't have any coherent light source to shine at it, maybe a concentrated point for some other source... I'll try as soon as I've built the dual supply to power it. On the other...

    New Laser power meter

I've just got off ebay a photodiode based laser power meter module, pretty simple, power sensor and a precision OpAmp to give a valuable output. From ebay's auction: Here are some photos of the circuit: As far as I've understood, I'm going to supply this with something like a dual ±15V...

    DX200 Red (Dilda) Update

just bought the 6x batt auction. Good price, I've got coming from DX a charger for 3.6V ones so it will be good :)

    DX200 Red (Dilda) Update

sweet. going to buy some asap. does anyone know the best place to buy them as now? I've found good deals off ebay, $14.50 / 6 cells, with free shipping.

200mW Red Pen Style from DX - Detailed Review

Nope, it doesn't emit any wavelength other than the 650-660nm red. Even if it doesn't put any light at IR or UV wavelengths, it still danagerous due to its output power. I would not look into 200+mW of red without a pair of shielding glasses while working/burning at 30cm from my face. add a...

    My mini Tesla coil

It's a russian GU-81m, graphite plate power penthode that was used in URSS tanks I suppose as RF final stages. datasheet there: http://www.g8wrb.org/data/Russian/GU-81M.pdf I'm running it a bit overspec, but with a good ventilation it can take more than the rated 600W peak heating for pulsed...

    My mini Tesla coil

If you can afford any local ham radio fair you should be able to get most of the components for far less than $700, I've built my Vacuum Tube coil with something more than 150€ of parts, yes they're giving you a complete secondary, but I would wind that by myself for better insulation too. HV...

    DDL Circuit Values

I've made a LM317-based driver for a PHR, running at 125mA, it runs well off a 9-10V (3xCR2) supply. The driver does have a dropout of about 1.5V at 100mA, you must add also 1.25V lost in the resistor for current sense... we're at 5.5V (PHR) + 1.5V (317) + 1.25V (resistor) = 8.25V. reccomeneded...

    Dx is down this morning

from here it loads properly... Running a tracert on their website I'm getting the fist node "expired", everything else up to their farm looks good. I suppose that's just a local problem. try to run a tracert on dealextreme's site and post there the results. here's my tracert to DX. Tracing...

    Flyback

This is my favorite flyback driver: circuit description: The most crucial part of the circuit are the MKP capacitor and the flyback primary winding. Keep really shorts the connections between the resonant circuit (capacitor - flyback) and the mosfets. The primary is hand wound on the...

best safety glasses prices i've found

nice. just ordered a pair of the 650nm ones, do anyone know what OD would have the 532nm ones on 405nm light? I'm planning a violet laser too, 21€ is pretty cheap :)

    diode laser driver

I have never found a data sheet for the PHR's diode... would be good to get one  ;) I've done a test board for this driver, in a couple of days I should complete it getting all the parts needed. Despite the really small size of this board, toner transfer paper worked very well. I have built it...

    200mw red(dx) or 200mw green(dx)

The red one is pretty good, if you want a burning laser, you'll get a serious one. Running off 2 CR2 rechargeables puts normally more than 200mW. look in the red lasers subforum for more info :) they call it the "red dilda" due to its shape ;) I would not buy a green laser in a pen-sized host...
