Hello Everyone!
So as a recent graduate of Electrical Engineering, I have finally found some time to get back to my old hobbies which got me interested in the major to begin with.
So, I've been trying to start a little online electronic superstore for us niche hobbyists since like 2008... and...
Hey everyone,
I see a lot of posts (most are actually pretty old, come to think of it) on here with people building LPMs and interface kits with IC's or discrete parts that require Split (or Dual) supplies. In order to achieve this, most people tend to get two 9V batteries (or something of the...

**BETA UNITS ARE NOW AVAILABLE. SEE PAGE THREE OF THREAD.

Hello Everyone,
Been on a hiatus for a pretty long time, I've been buried under by loads of work.
The purpose of this thread is to guage...
Hey everyone,
It's been a while. Just posting to see if anyone would be interested in some "test regulators" I might be getting printed. They would act as a pre "filter" that you could attach to a power supply or some batteries and then to your driver/diode test setup. At a certain...
Hey everyone!
Here's a cool survey Idea I had a while back... Basically there are a LOT of different kinds of hobbyists on LPF and I was always curious as to how the demographics span out. (Age to expertise? etc?)
So here's a quick "poll" put together,
Laser Interest Survey
Itl take a...
Lol I realized the other day that it was my addiction to LPF all throughout highschool that led me to become an electrical engineering major...
What is everyone else's major if you're in college? What's your target major if you're not!
also what college you're going to (I'm at UCSB)
Regards...
So I just popped one of the SF-AW210's from my group buy into a module, and set an LM317T driver at 7.1ohms (bout 175mA) and I just measured it at ~200mW (198-205)
Beam shots and stuff to come, but my question is wtf?

EDIT: 7/3/2014
So, I'm not sure how active this forum is still, but I miss it nonetheless so I'm (trying to be :P) back. I never posted the results of this project, so here they are:

Basically, it works...
Greetings from Mr. Sled! ;D
This Group Buy is Now Closed.

So, I have been away from LPF for over a year. There are those that know me well, and others maybe not so much. Those who know me from the days when only a few people had 1000+ posts, heya!
I am back, however, with another of my group buys!
I will leave it up to you: post what you want me to...
THese are the Long DIE Open can Diodes that can do anywhere from 250mW to 300mW in a good setup.
Pricing:
Sled: USD10
Shipping to US: USD2 for orders up to 5 sleds, anything over is USD5
Shipping to Non-US Participants: USD2 for up to 3 sleds, then anything over is USD
so USD12 shipped...
OK so here is the deal:
This is the usual AMK GB, So I wont say much.
BEFORE I START:
Last GB FAILboated because the suppliers ditched me, and lied to me many times. This time the tables have been turned and things will go a bit differently.
So: The supplier has saved 100 units specially...
Pricing:
$55 each (remember, these are expensive sleds, that have a POWERFUL diode!!)
Shipping:
Domestic: $7 + 35 cents for each additional unit
International:[smiley=smiley_up.gif] + $4

amk
UPDATE 10/07/08 9:19PM: We need 10 UNITS MINIMUM and they only have 130 UNITS IN STOCK...
:o
the seller claims these goggles block as low as 337nm, all the way up to the CO2 range in 10 or so microns...
This is either impossible, or they are just welding glasses or something that you cannot even see through.... they are CHEAP too!!
any ideas...
I am going to start a Long Open Can store, no need to wait for a GB, AT GB PRICES!!! so if you need your diode fast, you can get it fast.

"The Picture" that is referred to in this thread:
RED DIODE PINOUT
You see the pin that has no Black dot under it (on the diode itself)? (pin #2 in picture) that is your ground pin. The ground pin is - (negative).
The one to the left of that (when holding pins in triangle formation right...
Weeee000000ttt its BACK!!! Due to the great support I had from t3h last GB, I decided to do another one, JUST FOR YOU GUYS!!!
