WTf, 7$? it cannot be better than this which i burned lol... Good price, maybe i'll buy it.
why use optical adhesive? cannot i use normal epoxy, or silicon?
Anyway, i get the idea of replace DL because it can be interesting if i get a little more power using a stronger DL. Because i have...
i disassembled it. Anyway, i can get a replacement diode (200 mW) on ebay at about 4$, it's a lot more affordable that a decent green laser pointer... If there isn't too many alignment problems, i can try to reassemble the laser.
As we can see on the picture, the crystal is held by a brass...
hi, i have one of the famous chinese green laser pointers. After i played with the pot (lol) i burned the ir pumping diode.
So, can it easily replaced, maybe with another one a little more powerful (not too much, i know the dpss crystals cannot withstand big optical stress) ?
There are...
Unfortunatly i don't have LPM, i tried it at 400 mA, the brightness does not increase significantly at eye looking; i hoped in a better beam visibility
Hi guys. I get a 22x LG dvd burner: GSA-H55N. I extracted an open can laser diode. I read around which the laser diodes from a 20/22x runs on about 400 mA.
So, after placing it in a optic module, i supplied it with about 400 mA and it works well. The "problem" is: beam intensity is very similar...
and what about try to pump crystal with a DL a little more powerful? i know that the crystal could be damaged with high powers, but if i oversize the DL with +50 mW could obtain bright green laser?
bad idea? :D
btw thanks for infos
ok i think the LD is damaged... i was not able to reach the full brightness as same as the first run...
so, if i replace the LD with another 808 nm, keeping the driver?
is it possible?
i red the review ( http://laserpointerforums.com/f52/mini-review-50mw-green-module-fasttech-80522-9.html ) on this forum and yes... i learn touching the pot is a bad idea.
But is too late, i have played with that pot many times lol.
But the behaviour is stranger, because if i play with pot/pcb...
i'm returned :D
so... i have some trouble with this laser.
if i turn potentiometer , the laser intensity varies with a strange behaviour; sometimes the laser is bright, and then fades and looses power. If i turn potentiometer, the beam increase brightness but then some turns the light turns...
i'm using a mine homemade PSU, based on 317, with a current limiting and short-circuit protection.
I don't know what happened... But the light was weak also at first run at 350 mA. I cannot explain my faliture.
I sticked the diode in the module with hammer... can be this the mistake? I cannot...
Holy shit. i think i burned the diode.
fuck off those stupid DLs they are so weak that if i look them they die.
I think my PSU has some problem...
But the current was setted on 350 mA max.
Why these diodes are so weak?
I have a red laser from 8x dvd burner and i drive it with potentiometer...
Thanks. useful threads :)
i have to build the driver. Can a standard current limiting 317 circuit do a good job?
max current for this diode is 600 mA right?
If i link my wrist and the solder with earth ground cable it's safe?
Hi again guys!
Today has just arrived my diode.
Now i have:
- LPC 826
- housing with lens
- heatsink
i do not have the copper module... i think i'll try without it.
I'm gonna to stick the diode into the standard module..
Any suggestion???
How can i proceed to minize risk of laser faliture?
Done. I bought laser diode, laser module with lens and heat sink.
I think i'll build driver from myself.
Any suggestion for mounting the diode?
Is the copper module necessary? if i mount the heat sink on standard module will it be ok?
I'll update the topic when i'll receive the items (about 1...
i bought fasttech 50 mW green laser.. i'll update the topic for my impression.
Thanks all for suggestions.
PS: can it be powered with one 18650 li-ion 3.7V cell, right? It should be have built-in driver
