Hahahaha, OK now I'm anxious to get both of these, and goggles for Thor too :D

Hello! Complete Newbie to lasers, would like advice on where to start in terms of first building from scratch

My advice would be this: 1. First thing you should get is safety gear. 2. It might be a good idea to get a finished (factory made) laser first to get some idea on how the light behaves and what it can do. 3. Then get some bundles like others stated and try to make your own laser. I'm just a...

What to do with accidental purchase??? 1600mW 450nm?

I think that 1600mW is an overkill for me hahaha. I am just a newbie too. But, safety first and I should be fine.

What to do with accidental purchase??? 1600mW 450nm?

Thanks for the replies. I agree, I'm going to do that. I'll just safely store the laser somewhere and wait till I can afford the goggles. I had no idea that 1.6W is that powerful tho :D

    Sanwu Lasers - Offical thread

Ahh, I see. I didn't buy any attachments tho, I just got the laser, and I'm not very sure why, except to pop baloons at home and that's pretty much it. But ever since I was a kid I was fantasizing about something like that :D This laser will be able to do that, and I believe I'll get some more...

What to do with accidental purchase??? 1600mW 450nm?

Thanks for the advice, but I will rather wait some time till I get money and goggles from Laser Survival or somewhere similar, as they are kinda more reputable, and I am very paranoid. Laser can wait to be used. My eyes are too valuable to me.

What to do with accidental purchase??? 1600mW 450nm?

My friend, problem is that I didn't realize I got it until they sent the parcel. And idea of breaking it came because I have nobody to sell it to, and I sure won't use that without eye protection as I said up there. I did message the seller and I already know what will be the response - send...

What to do with accidental purchase??? 1600mW 450nm?

My heart just started pounding when I noticed money missing on my account. I quickly checked the transactions, then my e-mail and I saw why. I had Thor M2 in my cart and I accidentally bought it while buying dual slot battery charger... It's cost me aroud 50$, it's shipped already so I have...

Newbie asking for opinion on first purchase

Yeah, I ordered that same laser :D I hope that mine won't get witheld by customs. And I know that it's similar with other e-bay lasers but there are some differences: 1. Sanwu has better cooling 2. Power output is what label says it is 3. If it says 650nm then it is 650nm ...Sanwu also...

Newbie asking for opinion on first purchase

Thanks for the reply! And yeah, I agree that 200mW is a lot. And I chose red because it was best bang for my buck mainly :D As far as goggles go, I'll be using them each time I use the laser. I'll literally put on the goggles before I even put the battery in. Yes, I'm that paranoid... but I...

Newbie asking for opinion on first purchase

Hey everyone. So, I'm 24yo guy from Balkan, I had multiple "phases" where I was really into lasers but I never pulled the trigger on any of them. Recently I figured out that if I'm working and studying at the same time and not spending on a thing - why not? Plus, owning such laser was my dream...
