i already had to slap someone last night at a local bar that was using a 300 mw green like an idiot.
he explained to me that it wasnt dangerous in anyway .. education should be priority one ..
after about a 15 min conversation .. he put it in his vehicle and left it there lol
the glasses are pretty good .. even @ 2w 445nm i have to find the dot to see what im doing .. i cant see the beam at all .. so i think im good there .
190-540 & 800-2000nm OD4+
i pm'd styro and Ehgemus to get some knowledge and see exactly what i need and how i wanna go about this
glasses i shoudl have covered these things block out a ton of light

they make my 2 watt seem like nothing .
and that link is the actual...
id like to build something in the 5 watt range
i hit 2 watt with a C6 host id like a new challenge ( turned out violet that annoyed me a little .. but it was cool i guess )
prefer blue .. theres 2 nm's .. i forget which one is better .
maybe a better host if you guys have ideas?
the button is on the end of the laser .. but thats not the problem .
the problem is .. the threads on the end of it to screw the cap on for the batterys in only like 2 threads .. and it no longer holds the cap on i have to hold it on .. which is really really annoying.
anyone had any luck in...
yes very scary stuff .
and thanks guys .. thats the answer i was looking for
i will wait to do the focusing and burning till i have the proper protection .. just wanna make sure i wasnt doing something stupid before i tested it tonight
i am well aware of the dangers and i dont mess around with the high powered lasers.
but is there danger in viewing the beam?
or is most of the danger in the dot?
i have ordered goggles.
i got these but they freakin shipped from china so its gonna be a few weeks before i get em ...
#1 concern ... SAFETY.
now i understand that the dot is dangerous and focusing it without eye protection is stupid .
but if i take it outside ( i live in the country )
and do some field shining is there a risk there?
i have ordered eye protection however .. my laser parts arrived first .
my 2 watt laser actually burned a hole in my camera .. like when i shoot videos with it now .. you can see clearly where the laser hit it .. if you dont wan to destroy the camera .. id suggest a different route
im not terrible at it .. but im by no means a professional
your definately not prying that driver out i guarantee that
but i took the lazy way out so hopefully once this arrives all i have to do is shrink wrap some wires together and pray i didnt hurt the diode
i made this exact same laser...
