Now let me start by saying that I'm not sure if this would be a good host for a laser or not. I'm thinking it might be a bit too expensive to make a good host.. but I thought I would share anyway, see what you guys think:

I haven't been around here for a while.. but I thought some of you guys might be interested in how my laser glove project is progressing.
I finally got a decent camera and put together some footage that goes over the laser gloves. Here is a video:

So here is the scenario: I can get a 650nm diode for much less than a 635nm. Even at double the power the 650 is still 40% cheaper than the 635. So I'm wondering if there's much difference. Which one would you go with?
Some of you probably recall my laser glove project that I started a few months ago. Well I finally have a set of green laser gloves that is good enough to sell, and I've listed them on etsy!
Take a look.
BTW, for anyone reading this thread later: this was originally a link to my etsy listing...

I particularly like the note of joviality in the message. I have never seen Carrie laugh before. This Chinese new year must be quite entertaining.
Practically anyone who orders lasers can expect extra delays this time of year. haha :san:
I'm trying to figure out why our eyes work the way they do in respect to color. What mechanism makes us see green so brightly? I have heard quite a few smart people with something to say about it, but a lot of what I have heard is contradictory.
I was looking at this site recently, which has...
I am looking at a fiber coupled laser module and I'm having a really hard time finding detailed information that I can understand on just what a fiber coupled laser is.
The impression I am getting is that the diode is on one side of a fiber optic cable and the optics are on the other side. I am...
My Chinese supplier has just asked me if I wanted to add a UV filter to my laser in order to make them less likely to fail. I've tried to think of a reason, but try as I might I can't see how a UV filter would help.
So my question is this: Can UV light damage a laser diode? Is...
I work with smaller diodes at lower power. My Chinese supplier has just told me that he has just gotten the technology to make me a 470nm at 10mw that is just larger than a AA battery. It's a bit spendy at the moment, but i'm hoping the price will drop soon.
I am wondering if anyone knows what...
Hi, new to this forum.
I've been messing around with cheap commercial lasers for a while now and it has occurred to me that it would be really nice to be able to verify what frequency a laser is actually outputting at.
For instance, I have a cheap red laser pointer here and I would like to...
