    Blue laser power check

Thank you for the reply GSS, but since like you I doubt the labeling is correct, my question was how to test the unit without specialized equipment. Could you rig up some kind of home made bench test ?

    Blue laser power check

I bought a 5 watt blue laser while travelling in Bangkok. (at the MBK). It is powered by two cr123a batteries. The casing is some king of chrome covered steel and the whole unit is quite heavy (about 12 ounces) and 6 inches long. When I focus the beam at objects 2 feet away they burn rather...

    blue near UV laser

Saw one just like it at the Bangkok MBK shopping center ( 4th floor ) near massage shop. It appears to be tha same thing, but they claim it is 1.5 watts. I tried burning a few things and it seems of equal power. They where asking 2500 bahts (83$) for it. I think I could bargain it down to 2000...

    Green laser rifle sight.

I think I got you, about total power output and 532 nm output. So I guess it would require a meter that is wavelenth specific. How do I show my location ? I am presently in Laos and moving to Thaïland tomorrow (Bangkok). I will be back in Canada (home) in mid-april. I wonder where I can get a...

    Green laser rifle sight.

Hi, Thank you for your reply. When you say that you put a high power module in a cheap laser sight, what power would that be ? Is it 200 mw or more ? I wrote to the company who is selling the 200mw sight and asked a few questions. They are confirming that it is really 200 mw output. I am out...

    800 mw red pointer

The sticker on it shows class IIIb 800 mw. But since I have purchased it in Bankok (MBK shopping center) that does not mean much. When I get back to Canada, I will check with a ampmeter.

    Power measurement

If I measure the current draw on the battery with an Amp Meter, and then multiply this by 0.7 volts will I get a good idea of the power of the laser ? Ex: 100ma X .7 Volt = 700 mw ?? I know there is heat loss in the driver module and resistor, but is that a lot ? Please help. PS I am...

    800 mw red pointer

Thank you for this info. I realize that I might be going the wrong way. From what I read on the forum, maybe I should try to find something like a 200mw green laser to get good performance in daylight situations. I ultimatly want a rifle pointer (aimer) that is powerful. But it seems that I...

    800 mw red pointer

Not sure I get you on this one my friend. My objective is to have a brighter one for hunting. It may not be as advertised (too good to be true) but it is for sure a lot brighter than the green one. The reason I registered to this forum is to get technical info. Ex : You cannot have a 800 mw...
