Exactly. That the great thing about designing and building your own system too. If something breaks I can replace parts. If you want the STL file I can upload it for you when I get back onto my laptop.
Obviously the diode does get warm and I give the laser a duty cycle to be on the safe side but nothing serious to worry about. Thanks Snecho
Thanks Robert, funny enough yes. I have had a 505 diode for a while doing nothing. I’ve contacted Jordan for a driver for it. Once I receive the driver...
Thanks Snecho. :)
Yes the diode doesn’t generate a great deal of heat. I have a steel heatsink and it sticks out of the host slightly allowing passive cooling. I was careful with heat management due to the fact that my host would be naturally insulative.
Sorry for the double post. My fears have been confirmed. It is possible for repeat contractions of Coronavirus. The Japanese just documented their first case.
Yep, bringing the total as of yesterday’s report to 11 deaths and 322 cases. The numbers aren’t huge. But the amount of deaths are worrying. Italy being an EU country was supposedly meant to prepared for the virus and has a good medical system compared to non eu countries. They are seeing a 3.4%...
It needed to be special for a wavelength like that. :)
I tried to match the colour up on those photos. When I took them it came out pure cyan.
That colour in the photos are close to what is like under daylight viewing. In the dark it appears a tad greener.
It is a weird but amazing colour. I...
Thank you Rich. Lol, there was some extra work that I didn't intend on doing. But glad it finally got done. Also that switch sits just in the right position in my hand for ease of handling. :)
I got most of the prep done at home, but had to borrow some tools to finish it off properly and I was...
And then to test that the battery is able to discharge to my laser module correctly. Also a good time to check out some photons :)
In order to get the battery holder and circuit board into the host correctly I had to neaten the wires up.
Finishing and putting it all together:
Hi everyone, it’s about time I finally post a build on here after all these years.
It is the first time I have ever completed a portable before. I have contemplated portables before but never got round to it. I tend to stick with wiring power adaptors on usually because I love the run times and...
