Yes the spring does contact the positive terminal of the battery directly, but not with much force. I had a hell of a time getting the spring the right length. Suprisingly the leads on the diode are pretty strong. I thought the diode was dead so I pushed it out with a empty 22 then hooked it up...

I made my first laser with a Dorcj "Jr" flashlight and it works just fine. But you do need to get a heatsink I ordered one from dark_horse and its relly high quality. It runs off one CR123A and I have a Flex Drive in it. It wasent that hard to build either and its around like 4 inches tall. And...

I have found recharagble RCR123A batteries and I was wondering if I could use them in a Dorcy Jr build? Is there any size difference from a regular CR123 battery? Also is there any power difference that would affect the Flex drive I have in it? Sorry for the noob question just wondering though.

OK so in this case if I wanted to put it into a dorcy jr all I would have to do is flip the battery so the case is positive and the spring on the inside would be touching the negative. That makes sense right?? Also this might be a dumb question but what would happen if I hooked it up backwards...

I bought a Rod LD that was already pressed in to a Aixiz module fron High Teck Dealz. Theres nothing wrong with it till I soldered the test wires to the pins on the LD. I noticed that the LD rocked back and foruth when i moved the wires and eventualy came out, and I craped my paints :o. Sinse...

But its easier for the light to turn on when the button is reversed because the switch doesn't have to go down as far to turn it on so it barely needs to be pressed to turn it on.

My button on my dorcy flashlight is backwards. Like in the off position the push button is down in the rubber housing. so when I turn it on the button is up. This angers me because you should be able to push the button half way down, if the switch was in right, and momentarily have the light on...

i have a question too what mA should i put out to my LD using a flex drive if i want it to be a burning laser what would give it long life and be able to burn stuff should i go with 420mA that sounds high to me :-[ I plan on putting it in a dorcy jr with the full dark horse heat sink.
