Part of the Geneva convention states the use of lasers in warfare. Some tactics we think would be "cool" or "more useful" than guns, are illegal in war. On the other hand, there are also other laser uses in war that we can use legally. I could be wrong though, things change over time.

Well the update: AFAIK, it looks like a real 20x, and burns nicely. The beam in the aixiz module at 400ma, surprised me. It isnt as bright as i thought it would be. Oh well. Btw, anyone have a page where it gives spec sheets on certain diodes thanks! Also, as far as contact info for...

Ehh.... class one will probably be useless. I tested class one cd-drives at 375ma+ (the schematic above, about 3.3ohms) and it was just a somewhat "bright" dot picked up by the cameras lcd. Even to my nightvison, it wasnt that bright. I didnt test it over time spans, but im guessing it would...
