Off, and on, 635nm laser diode with photodiode under the microscope.

Hey guys, Today is the turn to an 635nm laser diode with photodiode and with 7mW optical power. I was surprised by the beam profile, as we shall see, is very stretched. Also say that except the LD extracted from the DVD, all the other LD's emit light from the sides, left and right, this one...

    Survival Lasers Copper Heatsink

It's like the same that I've tried to say that with my bad English. Misunderstanding of my words, for I may not have explained properly. Wolf, A little of piety for me, not my first language, not even close :o :p

    Survival Lasers Copper Heatsink

In this case the copper heat-sink has mainly an advantage and a disadvantage. The advantage is that you can have the laser ON for longer periods than with the same but in aluminum. The disadvantage is that compared to the aluminum heat-sinks, the copper takes longer to cool, which means that...

Plenoptic camera, for lovers of photography.

Thanks, Well yes, besides the value that each person can find with this technology, or not, it is undeniable that take a picture without worrying about of the focus at the time of taking the photo, it is still interesting. Personally also I find it a very interesting technology, but this...

@Things Yes, nothing new, but I thought of those who do not know, it is a rather peculiar. Anyway apologize if someone put it earlier here in the forum.

Very nice laser, and beautiful photos, Fret... I can not give you more REP for now :(

Plenoptic camera, for lovers of photography.

Well, no doubt this model is not up to par, but the principle, though old, is very interesting. Maybe in a few years we have really something interesting for all. But for a start for the public in general, is not very bad. Science Inside | Lytro

Wow Jeffrey, I just hope that the mercury switches that I sent to you, don't end up in the "pile of useless junk" :cryyy: :p

Blue balloons resistant against blue laser

Hahaha, I guess it's a joke, right? Already exists various military laser weapon, and the colors have nothing to do here because is a very high power lasers, and also those laser working in a diferent wavelength, normally IR. Here one example. cCBwLJjzDJQ&NR=1

Blue balloons resistant against blue laser

Apart from black or very dark colors, "generally" work very well the complementary colors, that is, if for example we have a blue laser, to explode up a balloon get its complementary color, ie orange. Try it and see what happens.

Blue balloons resistant against blue laser

Speaking of the visible spectrum of the light, what is certain is that if the balloon (in this case) has the same color (wavelength) as the laser beam, the balloon will take longer to explode, or will not explode. Of course, and speaking of a simple balloon, if we use a powerful laser, well...

Really, thank you very much for your kind comment Giorge, and not worry about the REP, I thank you likewise ;) Yes, I will continue taking pictures, it's quite of work but worth it, because I'm glad you all like the photos  and I enjoy doing it also :yh:

Good work Eud, nice custom heatsinks  I can't give REP to you for the moment :( the system says the same bla bla bla for me, haha

Thank you very much Scott, I appreciate your comments :yh: I will continue taking photos for you all  Edit: Yes, the rear also lases, but I do not know is if exactly the same power, would have to check. Anyway as I said, this one it has no lateral losses, the other red's, yes. Yes, so...

No need to apologize, it's okay friend, don't worry haha Thanks Fret. I appreciate the comment. Is a pleasure share this photos with all of you

Many thanks Federico, I'm glad you like them  Tomorrow I will try it, if I have the time, and see if it comes out, and so also satisfy to Ped, and others who asked this :yh:

Yes, it's another world, and I love. From childhood I loved looking through the transparent window of some ceramic EPROM, and others memory chips, and also I broke many microchips, with the same intention, haha :eg:  Here still I have some of those chips with transparent window...

Thanks Eud. Yes, it's curious, but all the red laser diodes that I photographed have the upper Substrate slightly tilted. Is not the case of the 405nm laser diode. Thanks AUS, Yes, that's my intention to show to all they want, what you do not normally see at a glance. Thanks TH, Well, we...
