    Blue light hazards?

I find the application f.lux helps me relax and fall asleep faster compared to not using it before calling it a night.

A-Holes of fooltube we all need to flag.

Thanks for sharing. Seriously thinking about joining YouTube to post. Not only is the last one probably ruining his dogs vision, but he is recklessly disregarding public safety pointing at that freeway. Man, these idiots going to ruin it for all of us. Man, I feel sorry for that poor dog...

Floaters after partial laser eye damage, did they ever fade out with the time ?

I don't know anything about lasik, but isn't the laser used on muscle tissue around the outside of the eye in lasik? I don't know if fleeting laser hits can cause floaters, but floaters are a very normal part of aging. You don't hear about it until you start to get them. Seems like people are...

Promising Looking Buck Driver (17mm and 22mm)

I don't know if this driver meets the demands needed for some of the bigger (not biggest) diodes these days, but it seems promising to me. The designer is among the most knowledgeable members on BLF. It's been used to drive LED's in the mid 6 amp territory. He hasn't tried to determine if the...

Most dangerous laser user I have ever seen!!!

Wow, potential future Darwin award winner there in that video. Thanks for sharing.

Filter 445nm light to produce white light?

Most high power white LED's have royal blue emitters and than a layer of phosphors that convert the blue to white light. If you have any white LED emitters laying around, point a 405 or 445 laser at the top of the emitter and you will light up your room nicely. Now, how you get a nice...

Calculating out put on a M140

I don't have the electrical knowledge to directly answer your questions. I'll tell you what I know and hopefully a more knowledgeable member will drop in. First, the heat generated at 1.5 amps. It's very easy to calculate if you know the equation. Something like watts x junction temp (on...

Calculating out put on a M140

Hi Ageless. The pictures in this DTR OP should give you a ball park idea. I have the same diode and lens in handheld. At 1.75 amps, I'm measuring about 2.25 watts. Pretty close to the what DTR measured with that diode. Best wishes on your build.

Mini Review - Red Laser 5mw, 650nm, 1x16340 from Each Buyer

Oh, weird. I didn't intend any link in my previous post, but it shows underlines. When clicked on, they act like the "links" in Tha Greenlander's post.

Thanks guys. Tha Greenlander, those links appear to be broken.

Collecting money on brand new S1 lenses

My lens arrived Friday. Very well packed. I have not opened the final packing that is immediately around the lens yet. I put it in my laser parts case for storage at the moment. Thank you for hosting the GB. Much appreciated. :thanks:

Mini Review - Red Laser 5mw, 650nm, 1x16340 from Each Buyer

I haven't found any good info on this laser. So I am posting as much info as I can here just in case someone should need it. My laser experience is light. So take my comments with a grain of salt. Also, sorry for the large pictures. I haven't figured out how to resize them. I won this...

    Fighting Racism (explicit)

That's my point. Most people seem to feel name calling doesn't count. It's something that I feel they can't really understand unless they are truly out numbered and the subject of the name calling. Another factor is that it's cumulative damage. Each individual instance builds on top of the...

Hit by a red laser beam

+1 on what Rifter said on all counts. Treasure your eye sight and get to a doctor. Even if you don't think you need too.

    Fighting Racism (explicit)

I applaud the OP for not blending into the silent majority. It takes balls to speak out like that. You're a better man than I. I do, however, completely disagree with the statements towards the end of the video about probably not making a difference though. Standing up to the person in that...

    5A linear current regulator?

Agreed. As I said in my second reply, I miscalculated. So isn't he going to have this issue with any linear regulator? Really seems that he should go buck.

    5A linear current regulator?

No Li-ion cell is going to hold 4.2V under a 5 amp load. Best would probably be 3.9v. Also, the 7135 consumes .1 v. So 1.6 volts (3.9 - 2.2 - .1) to burn off. But, I do agree that that is a lot of voltage to burn off. I miscalculated in my head when I replied. I was thinking it was an...
