    Foam Cutting Minimum Power

You'll need more the 300mW to rapidly cut even thin foam. It's not so much that 808nM is unsafe, its the fact that it is invisible to the eye. To be safe you would want the laser enclosed in something that prevents reflections from hitting your eye. 1W of 808 should be able to cut thin foam...

How to KILL the build in i-trust show?

If you don't want the built-in shows, why have it installed at all? My i-trust is sitting a drawer somewhere, I've never installed it.

Wiring a USB to my laser projector

You could power it through a powered USB hub like this. Newegg.com - Rosewill RHB-600 4-port USB 3.0 hub

Inexpensive, decent correction for 300mW Mitsubishi 635nm laser @ 94% transmission

Ordered a set, if I can get this to work, I just need to figure out how to pbs 2 together for my new projector. 5-600mw of 635 sould go well with ~300mw of green and a 445 with drlava's lenses.

Triple Prism Mount W/color tinted walls

They are not very efficient for laser use, I tried to use the 2" cube I got from an LCD projector, but the losses were significant.

    Melles Griot 05-LPL-340 DEAD?

Here's a trick you can do to check if the PSU is working. First make sure the plug for the laser is fully inserted into the PSU, then turn the PSU on for 30 seconds. Next, turn off the PSU, then carefully pull the laser plug from the PSU, then touch the 2 metal points on the plug to a metal...

    Question about LPC-815

    Yes it can.

Is there such a thing as a "hobbiest grade" spectrometer?

I don't know what specific instrument they come out of, but I can tell you what they do. Basically they take a patient sample(blood, urine,...) and mix it with a chemical reagent, then they expose the sample to a light source(UV, IR, or visible light) depending on the type of instrument. Then...

Yes to own, no to use outside.

Hand Held Pulse Laser from Crystal Rod Ruby HELP!!!

I highly doubt a camera flash will have the necessary power to excite the rod. You would also need a flash chamber to excite the rod from all sides.

My new 1600 mW Meierlight green analog laser! [Video]

Even using the 638's your still going to need around 1.6W of red. Dave, I hope you meant 532, not 543. I'd love to see a 1.6W 543nm HeNe.

Do the Dr. Lava optics correction lenses provide any beam expansion/mrad improvement?

Here is a 10Mp jpeg of the instructions.

Are you using the same USB port for both cables, I had issues in the past when I switched ports.

    Analog Modulation Khz differences

Ideally you want the faster rating. Especially if its a DPSS module. If your building an RGB, you want the rating to be close on all 3 of the lasers. Most diode lasers can handle very fast mod speeds, but the DPSS lasers are limited by the doubling process . Check this thread on PL Modulation?

Please explain some electronic basics to me

Even though AC is AC, they usually color Black as Line , green as ground, and the other color as Neutral, depending on where the item comes from the 3rd color varies.

Please explain some electronic basics to me

The red and black are the modulation lines, the blue, black and green are the normal colors for AC lines.

Please explain some electronic basics to me

I looked at that laser for my new projector, but the 4mrad divergence scared me away. Going to stick with a triple or quad lpc.
