    Dry Ice fog+Lasers :D

Metal bolts are constantly solid, so they freeze the skin. Dry ice, on the other hand, takes the heat from the skin and evaporates immediately, and is unable to absorb a lot of heat. Bolts are much more dangerous.

Review: 510nm Direct Green Diodes / Build Photos (DGH-N1, DGH-N2)

Are those things retail or engineering samples? I guess that you won't mention who makes them?

Looking to buy a yellow laser, need some advice.

589 is more yellow, 593 is more "amber" . I would go fora a CNI groupbuy if they still do those. EDIT: Rigel's price also looks fair.

Radiant Shades 405-532nm protective goggles review

My pair doesn't block 405 well, definetly not safe. Yellow goggles block 445 better, and I haven't tested it against 532 because I heven't got any. That's a pretty good review you made, it shows what to expect when buying those goggles to people not so familiar with OD ratings :) Good job

My first 445 - And its a Labby!

That's a nice labby, I'd like to have a labby too :D You can drive it above 1A safely, just watch the duty cycle, which depends on how much mass your heatsink has :) If that is a standard aixiz focus ring, I guess that you can leave it on for ~45 seconds at 1-1.2 A if heatsink mass is similar to...

Just bought a green laser and :O it says 1mW but: Class IIIB?!

You don't know if your eyes are good or not, brain compensates for damage so you don't notice it. You can check on amsel grid to have an approximate result.

Just bought a green laser and :O it says 1mW but: Class IIIB?!

405 "1mW" could be 20-70 mW, greens fluctuate even more. The sticker is a lie.

    Wicked Krypton In the News

What's the big deal about that? There are very many stupid people in America and companies like Wicked exploit that. Also, you seem to be offended by his post, were you insulted? Your sig looks familiar :tinfoil:

    S3 Arctic Question

[EDITED OUT - was wrong about the price] "More power" doesn't necessarily equal to "better". OP seems to prefer a nice host, so I don't know if he would prefer C6 over something from jetlasers or something custom(Ehgemus, that new host maker that makes "steampunk"). It also depends on the...

    S3 Arctic Question

That thinness of the beam i greatly appreciated by laser enthusiasts here, beam looks nicer and brighter that way. Also they say that dot diameter at aperture is adjustable, I believe that it is a mistake, though. Green is brighter per photon (and similar power) but blue has more energy per...

    S3 Arctic Question

1w is more than enough IMO, and that titanium host from jetlasers looks badass. If you like the look go for it, they are of exceptional quality, I don't know the price though :D A lower power one might be even better, I want to buy a 18650 battery just to reduce the power of a laser I got from...

    S3 Arctic Question

If you want reliability, go with a reliable laser company, not Wicked, it's that simple. A bad driver, shitty wires, questionable heatsinking just doesn't sound "reliable". 1W 445s are not rare, there are plenty to choose from, you might like one from jetlasers in a Titanium B host: ¤Jetlasers B...

It is Here.!!!!! 300mW "635nm" Mitsubishi.....

These 445s are exceptonally robust, I wouldn't worry. These 635 nm dodes are a really awesome thing that hapenned to this hobby, but we need to find away to correct that divergence at last a little bit, though. Maybe a new type of focusing lenses would do this? Something that collimates one...
