"Better Laser Diode Could Dramatically Improve Hardware"

If the wavelength is more monochromatic as stated, green lasers could become much more efficient with the use of better 808nm pump diodes

    New style Ehgemus host

So, if you don't mind me asking how much did that host set you back, I would really like one some time in the future.

    assitiance..

I know what you mean, only a few months ago I didn't even know what a troll was (exept for the mythical beast, obviously).

    Some Questions

I live in Australia and it took about three weeks for me to get my laser. Also, at worst a 405nm laser would be the same as being in the sun for to long and getting mild sun burn. With all but the very high powered ones you will be alright, just try to limit exposure to the beam and you will be...

Ok, thanks I just thought I would make sure. Also I will give you credit for it, like it or not;)

    Some Questions

With a 100mw green, at the focal point you will feel warm, maybe a pin prick. If it is on dark skin such as a freckle it will feel like a pin and leave a small (tiny), burn mark. The same will rarely if ever happen exept on dark skin with a red or IR laser as the absorbtion of the light...

    The Basics Of Electricity.

Thankyou all for your praise, Anslem, I really loke that analogy do you mind if I substitute it for my original one? I am just about to change the typo about volts and in the next few days add basic electronic components (resistors, capacitors and such). Thankyou again and I hope you enjoyed the...

    The Basics Of Electricity.

When I first joined this forum I had no electrical experience and I found the whole concept of electricity very confusing. I am writing this guide to help people who may be having the same problem. Firstly, electricity is measured in volts and amps. One milivolt is 1/1000th of a volt and...

    laser diode

Also, be careful. If one diodes blows than it will short the circuit and may damage the rest. If I remember correctly this can be fixed by conneting a resistor in parralel with the diode. (I am not 100% however so I recommend advice from someone more experienced before you try this).

Hey pyro, are you planning to sell any more maxsinks in the future. If yes do you have an estimate of when.

Best burning laser for a n00b?

But, do the matches pop baloons? I highly recommend this but it is very powerful and good safety glasses are ESSENTIAL for this laser.

    super simple A140 project

Very good then. I hope your glasses arrive soon. Be safe and have fun.

    Some Questions

You will be able to see the beam from a 100mw green in a dim room and at night it will be brilliant. Those glasses will protect from everything but red, yellow and green lasers so I recommend the ones I linked to. The kaleidoscopic bits and pieces you linked to are very cool, they can produce a...

Damn, Eudamonium you beat me to it ;)

    Some Questions

I also reccomend trying some weak ebay lasers of diffferent colours just to get used to them first. After this try a green like this www.rayfoss.com or this . As green is the most visible colour to people. A 200mw green is alot brighter than a 200mw purple, but both are just as dangerous to your...
