    1183mW 650nm Review

Sounds like a great laser. Where did you buy it from? PLEASE STOP SPAMMING THIS STUPID LASER ON EVERY POST I SEE!

    Is this worth it?

Not a very good deal, you should be able to get one for under $100 here or on ebay. Gas lasers are expensive because ever since diode lasers they are n ot in high demand. Also they cost much more to manufacture. EDIT: 175th Post YAY:):):)

Need help settling a discussion over destructive power of a laser

It would be possible to do so with a very powerful co2 or pulsed yag/ruby laser and some kind of computer controlled focusing/aiming system but it would be very likely to injure the occupants of the vehicle and/or bystanders rather than safely stop the car. As for affordability, how does years...

    How with heatsink?

Well as far as size and labbys goes, the bigger the better ;). I like to use a small to medium heatsink like the one I linked to and then sit copper or alluminium on and around it for extra heatsinking, and as was said earlier CPU heatsinks are great.

    List of budget hosts

Great thread, this is very useful. I had never actually seen that pen host before, I might have to get one. +1 for a really good thread.

SimpleDrive2 feeler - New driver, super easy to set.

I would be interested in the 1.5A version. WOuld it provide this current by selecting 445 or would you need to mod it? If you could tell me what current each setting provides I would find that very useful.

    How with heatsink?

Try this. If it is not enough you can sit it on a cpu heatsink or an alluminium/copper block. The only problem with this is that it a labby heatsink. If you want a handheld try a guidesman. It can provide a 6 minute duty cycle.
