    50mw Rayfoss laser... ??

Most likely they put a wrong sticker on it. They put wrong stickers in the envelope with the host I ordered. OTOH, you indeed might get a <100mW laser. How's the burning ability? These are good protected inexpensive batteries: DealExtreme: $5.08 Ultrafire 3.6V 880mAh LC 16340 Protected CR123A...

Tutorial: 12X Star Trek Phaser Mod!

Nice! But not a kid's toy for sure, even if it looks like one.

    Spark Fun $100.00 free order!

Wow, looks like I saved myself time by ignoring this offer. But kudos to sparkfun anyways.

Laserlands.com sells over 100mw with free protection goggles

Merry says that protective goggles are free with their 100mW and more powerful lasers. She also mentioned previously that their 100mW and 200mW modules are IR-filtered and are used in their pens. So IR component shouldn't be a problem (at least if you buy a pen) and this offer makes perfect sense.

So there's something I need to tell you guys...

Indeed, this story is not only vague, it's significantly altered. So 2007Revolution actually got Star Wars right, as they are not quite about a sick brother and his hot sister :D

    Who Owns Night Vision?

Yeah, I'd rather bought this pair (let alone a used car) than lost equivalent sum in stock market. At least they don't go down in price like stocks :) Too late now :banghead:

    Who Owns Night Vision?

OMG! Definitely cool, but I can buy a decent used car for the price of this set.

    Looking for Contact springs?

I was looking for these too. There is a thread like this on LPF somewhere. But it pretty much confirms they are hard to find. When I was ordering from rayfoss, I noticed they sell them together with their blu-ray drivers, so I asked Faona for just springs and she included a few for free. So you...

    Will it burn???

Of course it will. 200mW green will burn very well up-close even unfocused, and this one is focusable. Don't forget to buy laser goggles though! They are a must if you want to burn things with your laser.

I'm a kid.. please help to make a laser device.....

The diodes in your drives won't burn and you won't be able to see the beam/dot (as they emit IR light), so listen to Hallucynogenyc or just buy youself a dilda: New style 180~200mW red laser focusable£*>5~200mw Red laser pointer£*>Laser&lighting products£*>www.0-like.com

Laserlands.com "HALF PRICE WITH A REVIEW" Promotion When?

^^^ True. Also, a few days ago they did update description and pics for the modules. Hopefully they are doing the same thing for pens and their other lasers right now.

Pros and cons of a beam expander

Pointing a laser at some remote object, say a few kilometers/couple miles away, and trying to get as small dot as possible while looking at it with binoculars works great for me.

minimum temperature for safe operation of green DPSS lasers?

I used mine when it was -20°C for several minutes continuously and it's fine. But it was room temperature initially. http://laserpointerforums.com/f48/fun-lasers-20-c-4-f-46283.html Given the fact how quickly you can warm up the laser with your hands, why risk?

Looking to make my next purchase, adivce please

Blu-ray will burn better/more things, especially as it is focusable too and just slightly less powerful. That makes sense if your country's customs aren't laser-friendly. Shipping batteries separately or buying them from another place is safer then. The downside is that you'll end up paying...

Looking to make my next purchase, adivce please

   Good point! He wants a burner, right? :D BTW, here is a decent pair of goggles for as cheap as it gets: Professional Anti Green Laser Glassess - Focalprice.com

    O-like dilda or new style?

Ha-ha :) Also, I remember reading that the waterproof one has inferior focusing mechanism.

    What is/are your favorite book(s)?

Books are always better than screening in the same way original is always better than translation. Nobody can tell the story better than original author. For example, have you watched Desperation? It's a fantastic novel by Stephen King, but a terrible movie.

    "Laser HACK" LOL

Oh, maybe I shouldn't have used mine outside when it was -4°F here :shhh:
