16340 batteries HL 532 300mW

Have you looked at Illumination Supply? I have the Nitecore 16340's work great. Maybe you can get what you need from these guys too.

    Laser Trap (pic heavy)

LOL nice! If only their Doomsday machine had a sweet custom stand to sit on.... But yeah, I see what you mean, the way the beam reflects inside the tube, especially the green one.

    20mm shell ( revised)

That is unfreakinbelievably awesome! And it looks fairly simple to do overall. I do believe I will have to do something similar at some point. Thanks for the pics! EDIT: I have a bid in for a 20mm dummy round on eBay now.....

    Homemade tripod mount for lasers

Ok, the creativity bug apparently bit me hard these last couple days. First the laser beam trap tube, and now I made some tripod mounts for my lasers. If any of you are into firearms, you may have this same stuff lying around, and if not, you can buy any of this at Walmart, Academy, etc...

    Laser Trap (pic heavy)

Thanks! I have more Chinese pens and 301's than I do nice lasers, but I have a 445nm and a 462nm project lined up for the end of the month, that should class up the collection a bit! :D As for the power of those two lasers I tested the tube with, I don't know for sure. The green is a "200mW"...

Second Build, 405nm ~650mW PIC HEAVY

Re: Second Build, 405nm ~650mW PIC HEAVY... i killed it, literally :'( How did that even happen? I never imagined accidentally changing the amperage on a driver. That sux you blew the diode too...

    501B to 510 connector

You built a laser....into a 20mm round.... you my friend are freakin awesome! :worthy: I've been thinking of some unconventional hosts, this is very cool. If you have pics of that going together I would love to see how it all fits and worked out.

    655nm labby help.

Well I have no experience with labbys (yet), so I'll just send my condolences, and hopefully CNI will get you squared away. Hang in there bud!

    Laser Trap (pic heavy)

Thank you! The collection is small but growing. I have two BudgetBeams JAD kits in there, waiting for the $$$ to buy diodes from DTR, hopefully end of this month. As for the concrete, IF we eventually reach the point we have diodes that will cut through it, I'm not 100% I'd even want one...

    501B to 510 connector

Now that is pretty cool! I have considered buying one of DTR's 510 connection modules, but had a hard time settling on a mechanical mod to stick it in. This is a great idea! Are these connector/adapters something you made, or does someone sell them? I would be more likely to buy one of those...

Second Build, 405nm ~650mW PIC HEAVY

Re: Second Build, 405nm ~650mW PIC HEAVY... i killed it, literally :'( Oh man! I hate to hear that! :banghead: My first build has some issues similar, the driver is a little too big, wires are easy to twist and get messed up. Sometimes I have to loosen it up, jiggle everything a little to get...

    Laser Trap (pic heavy)

No worries, I'm not a "thread Nazi" when it comes to my posts. If getting off track helped you even a little, I'm glad it happened!:yh: Now with that being said, I took some pics of two different lasers firing down this tube: First the 650nm I built a little while back "] "] And...

Has anyone experience a laser injury?

I am fairly certain there is one or more stickies pertaining to this, with actual user experiences, as well as secondhand stories of laser hits to the eye. It is tempting to look at the dot up close, but it isn't worth burning up your only set of eyeballs you know? Better safe than sorry is the...

    Laser Trap (pic heavy)

Pi has the right of it, Photobucket is great. I was resizing myself and posting before, didn't much care for that. This way I retain the quality of the photos, and it is relatively painless to upload them.

Tell you what, never be afraid to share! That is how we learn and grow, by receiving feedback from our projects.

Second Build, 405nm ~650mW PIC HEAVY

Good looking build, and grats on avoiding the "$100 paperweight" lol! I've built two so far, I thought my first was gonna be just that, but I managed to salvage that project. Isn't it a grand feeling, seeing it actually work for the first time? :D What you have here is what my wife wants me to...

    A woman on mars?!?!?

"] I feel as like I should have something for this... "] Wait, no... "] Ok that's more like it lol! I'm not sure advanced life would even want to visit us, especially if they have spent any time watching us. Besides, what if they are crazy Cthulthu monsters or something...

    Laser Trap (pic heavy)

Ok, so I was thinking, I want some thing I can aim a laser into, contain the beam, and give me a safe area for the dot, something that will not catch fire or reflect back to me. Seems such a device would make it safer for me, especially when firing up a laser for the first time. So I decided to...

Willing to give a laser to help the forum with donations

Re: Willing to give a laser to raffle for forum donations Great idea, I will definitely get in on this once the details are ironed out. Thanks for the fantastic idea, this should be a boon to our community, and by extension, the hobby as a whole. One thought, if anyone has appropriate laser...
