Wicked Lasers products not FDA approved

Not only that, the customer can reach out to Canadian sellers. It wasn't hard to arrange the return of that laser to LaserGlow, it was time consuming but they did return my calls. Good luck trying to get Wicked on the phone. LOL Yeah I feel better. -Tony

Wicked Lasers products not FDA approved

Look closer, it has to do with LaserGlow. It's just an example of what the FDA will do if they find out you've imported a class IIIb laser. Basically they'll ask you to return it and provide proof that you did so. I don't trust ANY of the abroad laser sellers, especially Wicked. It's all...

Merry Christmas, 635nm diodes for free !!

It's easy, just practice on some LEDs first. The only difference is that they're much more sensitive to static. Ground your soldering iron, hands, and work surface to something big and metal. I have a glass desk with a metal frame that I ground to. Or you can use mains ground out of the outlet...

Osram set for green diode ramp in 2012

I think that this technology is still a ways away before we see laser based handheld projectors. They're too inefficient to be implemented into something like a cell phone. Consider all the heat they'd produce as well as all the power three diodes will consume. I think the next milestone would...

Osram set for green diode ramp in 2012

Additionally, I hope they're not multi mode like the 445nm diodes. As long as the package isn't too minuscule I think that we'll have appropriate hosts made. It will be easier to accommodate a new package into a host than correcting lenses. :undecided: Looks like their target wavelenght is...

What is the model of green laser pointer that is easiest to modify?

As far as I know you can't "mod" a green laser for more power. But for the sake of trying, just buy a lot of those cheap lasers off eBay and experiment. -Tony

    2.1W Ehgemus 26500 Alien Host

Cool idea using a copper coin as a driver heatsink! I never thought of that but it's a good idea! -Tony

which laser is best to buy??

Reguardless of what wattage they are, ANY 445nm laser, uses the dame diode (the little thing itself that generates the light). So a 2w laser is the same as a 1w laser, cept the current through the diode is much higher. 2w is like the upper limit the diodes can run at. They'll get very hot...

which laser is best to buy??

They'll see how ridiculously bright they are right away anyways. -Tony

which laser is best to buy??

Well like I said, my 120mW green laser is no longer 150mW, more like 20mW. For a beam to be seen at a distance, the laser should have a very good beam divergence. That's a measure of the angle the beam expands by. A good beam divergence is 1 or 2 mRad (milli radian). If a laser has a divergance...

    487 nm. Laser possible ?

I've never heard of that. I find that hard to believe. Similar projectors wouldn't use two different wavelength light sources. I think that is just a matter of wavelength tolerances between the diodes. -Tony

1.9W Ehgemus RPL Stlyle 26650 Host

I love that host style, simple and sleek. I don't like a whole lot of gnarling and cuts in the host. Yours is awesome! I have 4 of his hosts similar to yours. -Tony

    487 nm. Laser possible ?

You can't make 487nm like that. But you can make 485nm! All you need to do is tape two 445nm laser together so you get 890nm, then simply add on a 405nm laser (pointing the other way) so it subtracts form the overall wavelength, and wala! 485nm! Or you can microwave green laser diodes and...

which laser is best to buy??

K well the US and FDA has very specific laws about radiation emitting devices. I can tell you that it doesn't matter if the laser has a safety key, or a aperture cover or whatever. Next to NONE of those Chinese lasers are approved by the FDA for import. To get genuine approval is very expensive...
