    B&W Tek BWB-10-OEM - 473nm 10mW

    Shit, I'm sorry to hear you're having problems with it. It could be possible that the crystals got nudged out of alignment during shipping. :undecided: When I had it, it would eventually stabilize after it warmed up (about 10 minutes). -Tony

    C++

    Well it's not just ins and outs, the computer will have to recognize which things it can and cannot figure out based on what's given, and it'll have to solve quadratics. Simple operations can easily get very complicated. But yeah I don't care about winning. :na: -Tony

    C++

    I think I have an idea. What about a kinematic simulator/solver? Enter parameters such as initial velocity, initial height, trajectory, acceleration of gravity, and it computes max height, distance, time, final velocity... ect. But allow the user to input ANY of those parameters and the...

    What are some good books you've read?

    LOL! Yeah! How was the second episode? I don't have HBO :undecided: I think I'm gonna read Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy next. I liked the movie and everyone says that the book was batter. -Tony

    C++

    I was looking at that in another of your posts. LOL. That's what made me wanna start this thread here. :D I'll compile that next time I'm on my PC and check it out. -Tony

    I've never programmed in java but I don't like how you need a java environment to run in the background. -Tony

    UPDATE: Mmmkay so I'm pretty much done with my project, I'm now in the process of debugging. I decided to code the game Connect 4. I think it works pretty good so far, cept I know there is a bug somewhere that causes false wins. I've attached it as a zip if you wanna check it out, Windows .exe...

    What are some good books you've read?

    I finished reading a Game of Thrones a few weeks ago and you're quite rights, it was excellent! I also just saw the first episode of the HBO series they made based on this book. It wasn't bad. I liked it alot. They left alot of stuff out, as they always do, but they got most of it right...

    PHR-805 405nm diodes, replace PHR-803t's

    Nice write up Clif. 150mW of 405nm for that price is pretty damn good! -Tony

    Smallest 635nm Pointer -- New Picture Added!

    Re: Smallest 635nm Pointer! (I think) Nice! Where did you get the 40mW 635nm diode? I love my 635nm but it's barely 5mW. It definitely looks more "orange-ish" than 660nm. -Tony

    'Lightsabers' - 1.3w 445nm video

    Well they alredy are illegal. :whistle: But the FDA isn't concerned if you make a laser yourself, or even if you manage to get one in through customs. What they're really concerned with is Joe Blow importing 1000 units with intent to sell. -Tony

    'Lightsabers' - 1.3w 445nm video

    I feel like most of this forum is full of members who love telling junior members they're doing something wrong. But you're not his parent. Don't get me wrong I agree with all of you, but really.... why do you care? Do you all sleep better at night knowing you've told off some noob? I don't...

    Wanted, LPF, The History

    I've been here for about 2 1/2 years. But I was playing around with lasers since I was a kid. I think I bought my first green laser back in 03. I think I paid 100 bucks for it from Fry's. -Tony

    Confused about Electricity

    ^ Yeah I'd agree with that. The bottom line is that a 18650 just doesn't have the voltage to make these diodes want to draw lethal currents. However, that is not the risk IMO. If I was going to direct drive a diode I'd at least protect it with a 10uf capacitor and reverse protection diode too...

    Confused about Electricity

    The drivers we use are current regulated, not voltage regulated. So it doesn't matter if the dummy load perfectly emulates the voltage drop. You probably could use 5 or even 6 rectifiers for a 445nm dummy load, but you'll just be stressing the driver as you set the current. But it has been done...
