I thought the general consensus was that Cu "absorbs" heat more efficiently and Al transfers heat more efficiently.... :thinking: My CPU HS is actually based on a lapped Cu core welded to Al fins. I do agree with you that chip-cooling applications and LED / Diode cooling are apples & oranges...

I think that's naturally question of opinion - I happen to like linear and I'm rather tired of all the "mag-lite" clones (although they do excel at heat dissipation). I'm not sure what your definition of non-linear is, but this was my second choice... :)

Intro One of my other hobbies is sports & tactical cutlery. I think that's a bit restrictive; all major city hospitals have on-duty specialists including a posterior specialist (retinal). So if you live in a reasonably big city you could call and ask... . My ex who does many a night-duty would have looked at you and may have chosen to do immediate...
