Merged 445nm Pictures and Video Thread

Re: Photos and Video of 445nm Got my diode and driver in today, took the time to install it into a Kryton. I: 812mA Po: 807mW 405-G-1 (highly recommended ) Here is a pic: I must say that I am VERY impressed with the color and especially brightness. To my eyes it is absolutely true...

To oudin or not to oudin...

Indeed, that is quite surprising. As you said oudins are quite "un-energetic" I tend to run kW range coils in a room where I keep quite a few "sensitive" components. The only thing I have managed to "kill" is the gates on a MOSFET that I forgot lying around without antistatic protection, but...

Merged 445nm Pictures and Video Thread

Re: Mario's class IV 445nm Kryton + projector pics Cool good to know. I must admit it sounded quite strange that you burnt the clickies out at only 1.5A. However another thing that got me thinking and start pluging numbers in itself was the 1.5A figure. Lets give the diode a "high"...

Merged 445nm Pictures and Video Thread

Re: Mario's class IV 445nm Kryton + projector pics Hey Mario, Have you tried mounting the OEM lens into the aixiz nut? From what i've been told they are 6.5mm as well? On another note, I also have a kryton waiting, who would have thought that the click switches would be end up being the weak...

    Check out these MOSFETS!

They do have a very nice and low RDS(on), indeed very nice MOSFETS for LOPT driving. Though 14V@50A? What topology are you using? How are you measuring current? If, you are using a single switch topology driven by a 555, I am going to have to say "pics an video or it didn't happen...." :na...

    WLASER 50mW Handheld: Ehh.

Well, the pointer is not running at 100% efficiency...the actual pump diode is in the 500mw range. Also it is not running at 100% efficiency. So in the end you are looking a quite a bit over 500mw (1.8v X ~700mA-1A Pin) in terms of heat dissipation into the 10g?'s of brass? (Yesterday was a...

    WLASER 50mW Handheld: Ehh.

Thanks for the review twhite. Your utter shock at the insulated module reminds of this: http://laserpointerforums.com/f45/wth-newwish-you-use-your-brain-31174.html VERY old thread in which I ranted about the insulating air surrounding the module in a NewWish style pointer. Quite a shock to see...

    My side of the argument.

I try to stay neutral...but in this case...if anyone derailed FlaminPyros cool Cali. trip thread...it was you mfo. Yes, BobHs post may seem like it was directed towards you...but in the end there was a lot of truth in it, the fact is relations between members on this forum would be drastically...

    Tiny peltier(TEC) for custom LPM

They aren't exactly cheap but at 14.5$ a pop, they aren't too expensive either. Don't know, if anyone is still looking, but they would be pretty good for a homemade LPM. I am planning on ordering a couple in the coming days...just thought I would share the link. Mini TEC cooler modules Best...

    new moderator?

I would have no problem backing this up. In all my time here, I have never seen Phoenix77 loose his temper. Cool and level-headed, plus a very frequent poster. If he has the time, he has my backing. Best regards, brtaman PS: Also wouldn't mind daguin as mod.

    100mW 589nm & 80mW 473nm

The offer still stands, if someone doesn't buy it. ;)

    100mW 589nm & 80mW 473nm

5$ and a bag of doritos, for the 100mw yellow. (hey, at least its an offer ) Would love to get my hands on the laser, but I have just managed to scratch up the money for my post-grad tuition and living fees, so it will be some time before I have $$$ for such a nice laser, have fun...

    Nokia 5230 or LG Viewty?

Do not buy the LG KU-990...it is a terrible case of decent hardware with 0 software support. As far as phone functions, it is bad, loosing signal intermittently. If a phone fails to do the very basic function for which it is designed reliably, it is beyond useless in my opinion. As far as...

    This is incredible.

The scary thing is that no one knows when it will stop, this could go on for months... On a semi-funny note, today someone said it must be horrible for the people of iceland... My reply..."Not really, they are now like that one asshole on the road, who hasn't serviced his car in ages, spewing...

Awesome man, thanks for sharing! Going to give it a go, now that bbq season is on again! (BTW the thread name "freaked" me out, I am sick and am hallucinating, I read "Cooking in TJ"...first thought that sprang to mind was, damn legal issues for c0ld haha)

    FS: CNI 150, Averages 170mw, Peaks 180mw

Based on his account info, he hasn't logged into the forums since April 1st. So I would venture that he hasn't seen your offer.

Increase your MPG by 10 to 30%!!!

This and also one factor which is often forgotten is engine temperature dependency. Internal combustion engines (mainly NA cars) tend to produce a deal more power when the air outside is colder (denser). If the air/fuel computer isn't all that sophisticated the ratio inside the combustion...

Increase your MPG by 10 to 30%!!!

Good point...caps go open circuit when they are fully charged, ie they will draw bubkiss, unless they are crap with loads of leakage...I don't know what kind of super LED they have packaged in their "product", but it would have to be damn hefty to discharge a car battery.. Like others...
