    Spyder III 500 Prototype

I have also had a thing for the new Spyder host, really does resemble a lightsabre. :D Too bad about the output stability, looks to be a complete powerhouse of a laser.

    Post interesting band names.

Mine are definitely not as interesting as yours, but I have always found the following band names interesting: Creedance Clearwater Revival Greatful Dead Jefferson Airplane Pink Floyd Daft Punk These are the ones I can come up with atm.

    idea: new pen host?

Well that is an option. To be honest I am not a fan of the host. The main problem still remains though, how to get the module out of the host without ripping it apart. If you solve that, then you could by all means make a nice pointer out of it. Another option for the host would be the...

    Advice for a beginner

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it is quite possible that the LD has decide to call it quits. Though, this may not necessarily be the case. Can you give a bit more detail, as to the driver being used, which LD is it, what current was it run at, how much time has it been running?

What laser pointer TRULY works with LCDs

Welcome to the forums. Personally I think it is a matter of power, though your link does not show a laser, I am assuming it is a rather weak red laser (~1mw). Problem no. 1. Add to this the rather poor quality of the diffraction gratings you are using, which not only have sub-par...

    idea: new pen host?

I bought a couple of these hosts, 5mw version though. Honestly...looking at the build I would highly recommend a different host. You will have no heatsinking for your higher power diode. Adding to this, I believe that the module is glued into the host making harvesting practically impossible...

THIS is why you NEED goggles.

Haha, it's a force of habit, I always check data for nice pictures I come across on the internet. Yeah the 120fps shooting is definatelly a cool feature, especially for checking out spark formation and other fast phenomena. But honestly what impressed me the most was the silky smooth 30fps...

    Issues with LaserGlow

If that is the case, then I apologize for jumping the gun. The way I understood the post was: -The information received from LG stated that it is the Herc-325 model, but it turned out to be a Herc-250 model. As opposed to the laser still being the 325 model, just now running under-spec.

    Techlasers Titan from Wicked Lasers

Nice purchase! If the divergence and beam characteristics are up to par, then you got yourself and amazing deal! I am jealous...:D

Flat Red Laser Diode Testing - 2nd Phase

Re: Flat Red Laser Diode Testing - 1st Phase Do you mean, why we haven't used these diodes in our builds in the past? If so, we are a 5,6mm loving peoples dependant on Aixiz or meredith for modules, one would need machining skills and access to machine to be able to use these square plastic...

Flat Red Laser Diode Testing - 2nd Phase

Re: Flat Red Laser Diode Testing - 1st Phase Damn good efficiency. How good do you think the sled lens is, efficiency wise?

    Unbreakable phone fail...

Oh yeah, but microwaves and other EMF of sufficient power can destroy pretty much anything without good metal shielding, something that would be pretty tough to implement in the phone. I think they are referring to the phone being physically unbreakable...then again, that obviously...
